there needs to be a software limiter as well, i found someone who was under newbie and had a 0.6 password protector..........

There already is one, it's called your hardware. Bet you the newbie couldn't run it.

Scratch that, maybe he could, but he can't do anything else while it's up.

Just really old rock, popularized mostly in the UK and North America.

The Who
The Eagles <- Awesome
Aerosmith
The Beatles <- They released a ton of albums, some good stuff, but other tracks/albums just seem outdated
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd <- *thumbs up*
Deep Purple
Black Sabbath
Yes
Queen <- *snicker* I actually have to agree with you on this one.
ACDC
Kansas
Boston
Bruce Springsteen <- Doesn't appeal to me for some reason, guess I'm not Jersey enough
ZZ Top
Journey
Neil Young
Bob Seger
John Mellencamp
The Doors <- see Pink Floyd
Jimi Hendrix <- see The Doors
Lynyrd Skynyrd
The Allman Brothers Band
Steppenwolf
Guns N Roses
Metallica <- Napster, 'nuff said
Van Halen
Nirvana <- One of my favorites
Pearl Jam <- This one too
Soundgarden <- And this
The Red Hot Chili Peppers <- Yup
U2 <- Great band until Bono decided to act like a Madonna, everything from Vertigo onward is and forever shall be trash.
REM
Derek & The Dominos
Bob Dylan <- I actually took a philosophy class about Dylan's life and music. He's quite the lyrical jester, but folk isn't my thing. I've heard tons of his songs covered and I liked them much better than the originals.  "Maggie's Farm" and "Masters of War" to name two.
Don McLean
Police
Van Morrison
Creedence Clearwater Revival
The Animals
Fleetwood Mac

ANYONE who listens to any of these bands, tell me what you think of them.....I HIGHLY encourage anyone who hasnt heard of any of these bands to give them a listen...and if you want to hear the music I listen to, ask for it and you shall recieve. Itll be metal though.

I'm a fan of 60's/70's rock, 90's rock, and electronica in general.  You pretty much covered the 60s/70's and 90's rock parts, though I'm suprised you didn't include the last member of Forever 27 in there, good ol' JJ, as well as Jefferson Airplane, and the Grateful Dead. Electronica-wise I prefer a mix of Psytrance, Minimal, and the occasional dose of Happy Hardcore.

- Ketamine (Makes you happy, everyone's friend, you love everything, everything feels really good when you touch it.)

*vomit* I had one terrible experience with Ket, made me never want to try it again.  My friend gave me two lines of it for my 20th birthday. He'd done it a bunch of times when he was younger so I trusted his dosage. I wound up in a k-hole for the next hour or so, not pleasant at all. I'd try it again at a lower dose, but you have to be a masochist if you enjoy k-holes.

This one sholud make for some interesting changes again.. No more huge inactive newbie farms now.. suppose this will emegre a new wave of virus breaker attacs on existing spam daemons.. And more PVP.. I'm qurious, how this will affect stuff.. but basically I'm for it.. could be fun.. and good for newbies 1

A player is no longer protected when:
CPU>1100
OR
Bandwidth>10
OR
(not logged in for the last 7 days)

I have a question about the last condition. If someone doesn't log in for 7 days, loses protection, then logs back on, and still meets all the other requirements, does the protection reactivate?

I would just say to set a 1 week limit period on newbies.  That way the system can not be abused.

Otherwise what you just did is HIGHLY abusable

I wouldn't think a real-time limit on newbie protection would be fair to everyone.  Those who play infrequently would benefit less from the newbie protection than those who play 24/7. I like the restrictions, but why not a restriction on RAM/HDD? I'd suggest that instead of putting a cap on hardware, you set a cap on how much you can spend on hardware, i.e. after spending 4000HPD on upgrading your server, your newbie protection ends. It gives players a little more freedom in choosing what they want to spend their HPD on.

Have a separate cap on research spending too, but have it be much smaller, around 500HPD or so.  You don't want a place for newbies to dump all their money in after they've spent 3900 HPD on hardware so they can keep newbie protection forever.  Oh, and a notifier somewhere visible to all players.
