I was watching Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and I couldn't even make it five minutes through the movie. I kept seeing Dent and I just wanted to strangle him. At least I watched it before you ruined it.

Jerk.

good job Zand.

Id also like to note that Ive got the #1 Anti-Spyware in game, v 16.844. Conome, wanna play?

Hah, maybe if I could actually find a server that can run it. That whole thing was a mistake. I'll most likely never be using it unless someone provokes me.

Edit: And just in case you're wondering, it's installed in one place, and I'm not even the owner, though I'll be glad to tell you who owns it in a couple hours. It's too unwieldly.

I was thinking about Dimwit but that sounds good too. Arthur Dent is now Arthur Dunce.

Just a correction;
There are about 9000 players registered but I believe only 40% of them actually plays HP.

Online now; 43
43*48(halfhours/day(because updating every half hour))=2064
9000/100*40=3600

I was almost close. Calcs says 2064 while I say 3600. I have more faith in HP then I should.

How do you know the average amount of people on at any time is 43? Stop making assumptions. You don't know if the time you took that data was the average, the maximum, the minimum, or somewhere inbetween.

5% out of all players are active on the forums.
40% ouf of all players are active in the game.

5%=.05; 40%=.4

This means .05/.4 or 1/8 of all active players are on the forums, which is neither 12.5% nor 20%.

Also:
-Not all active players are on the forums
-Not all forum members are active
-You can't tell me you know how many accounts are active and inactive. More made up statistics from you.
-Updates are never instant, I'd think that Sir Emi tests each update for bugs and considers the effect of the update on general gameplay. The problem IMO is that Sir Emi does not have a neutral player and/or testing base that he can "bounce" his ideas off of.

Koreans are the worst players living on the earth. They have several institutes spread across their country were they offer help to people addicted to games. Blizzards games are worst of all. In fact the only documented case (Looked up some years ago. Might be incorrect.) of someone dying from playing games played Diablo 2.

Well isn't that bigotry if I've ever seen it.  As far as I know both the US and China have similar places dedicated to video game addiction treatment, and I'm sure there are other countries as well. As for people dying after marathon sessions, I've read news reports that include Diablo II, CounterStrike, MapleStory, Everquest I/II, and most likely other MMOs, so it's not just Blizzard either.

Starcraft is still played at a competitive level in Korea to this day. Widespread western exposure to kekeke happened after Koreans pwned the majority of western Warcraft/Starcraft players with "Zerg rush kekekekeke". Since they're obviously not riding zerglings, they decided to call it a tank rush.

kekeke is also similar to the thai expression 555 kvy.

1 - there is also a post where siremi stated what i said earlier

quotes or it didn't happen. a link is fine too.

On another note, now that I read the quote, technically (and I do mean TECHNICALLY) Emi never says that this is the persistent server nor says that this is not the round server. Only because resets were never officially 100% announced everyone assumed that this was the persistent world. Just my 2c.

"Blizzard influences the army"

Speaking of Gibson, has anyone read any other of his works? This includes the other two books in the Sprawl Trilogy or some of his more modern stuff? I've read Neuromancer myself, and I actually do want to give it a second readthrough once I get my hands on my copy again, but the bookstores I visit only have his (I think) most recent novel on the shelf. I could order it, but I guess it'd be nice to have an opinion before I go spending money.

There's also the Dune series if we're diving into sci-fi.  I couldn't really get into Star Wars/Star Trek, but Dune? lustslow I'm halfway through Hunters of Dune, the younger Herbert has a writing style nearly as effective as his father.

And what do you mean with the word "Hackers"?

It's a mid 1990's hacker movie IIRC.

I suggest a British Sitcom called "The IT Crowd". They have a lot of the episodes up on YouTube if you want to go look. The majority of the jokes are IT department related.

Yeah these cigarettes really are crap. My Japanese teacher had some ones from Japan and I thought they were pretty good compared to American ones. Problem is I don't care much for cigarettes anyway, they're really only for the phyisological effects. I've been cutting down on them even more the past couple days.

Ah I see, they probably weren't doing it right. Usually when I use a hookah I wrap the bowl with foil then place a instant-light charcoal on top. It's usually fine for the first half hour or so then it starts to burn and it's really noticeable when it starts. The foil helps reduce the amount of heat that reaches the sheesha (tobacco) via insulation as well as elevating the coal a half inch or so if the foil is taut.

As for the 'other things' in a hookah, nice, but not an everyday thing. It just doesn't taste right. I demand that my hookah smoke taste like fruit d**nit!

Oh definitely cigarettes are the easier to transport item. I've been smoking them more often now that I've moved far from any of my friends. They're nice as a quick stim for when I'm tired (which is usually often), but I still can't get over the taste, even if I smoke menthol 100's and stop 3/4 of the way through. After I'm done I want to drink something strong and acidic to try and mask the flavor (soda). Maybe I'm just trying the wrong ones, any suggestions? I currently buy Marlboro Smooths 100's, just so I can avoid that last bit of extra tarry/nasty cigarette.

Granted, heating, rather than burning, tobacco, in order to deliver only nicotine and a few other substances would be 'safer', except that smokers find those kind of cigarettes unsatisfying.
Summary: Heating tobacco is less harmful than simply burning it.

As for the hookah, I have serious doubts as to its effectiveness. Again, a lower temperature means more 'unwanted' substances, because the combustion is incomplete, etc...
Summary: Hookah smoking is harmful because of low temperature combustion.
Problem: Hookahs slowly bake the tobacco, a.k.a. 'heating'. Only after an extended amount of time (~45 minutes) does it actually start to burn, and then it tastes and feels like smoking a cigarette.

L2read? Anyone?
