i cant speak for any other country but here in the uk although DST was invented and banded about before hand the actual notion of it wasnt fully adobted until world war one when some bright spark decided it would help save on candles if the sunlight lasted longer - so they decided to move all the clocks forward so that instead of getting dark at 7pm it would get dark at 8pm instead thus saving 1 hour of candletime and thus allowing candles to last longer.

i dont have specific details but allegedly they even moved it back 2 hours during one of the wars as the supply of candles/oil got very low.

I imagine that, since it's based in some part of the world other than the US, that the answer is no. I know there are a few, but there aren't many countries outside the US which follow that backwards tradition.

(No, I am in no way bitter or otherwise against the idea of daylight savings time. I am completely neutral about it in every way.  16 )

other parts of the world do actually do daylight savings time - its just you yanks are jumping the gun and did it last week - we all do it next week :P

if my memory serves me correctly - the forum does switch over as does the game - however the scripts do not - so those scripts that are not hourly will go off in the old time zone example :- if the spawn new server cron script goes off at 6am every day then it will still go off at 6 am however we will all be 1 hour ahead so it will be going off at 7 for us - that make sense ? lol

It wasnt really aimed at anyone, but I know emi wants to make it fairer for new players, but us experienced players know where the moneys at, and they dont stand a chance when theres 3 or 4 people constantly doing the faction missions

thats kinda the point - they stand as much chance as those other 3 or 4 all battling it out - its called pvp - the best tactics win - wether that be you start at the first mission and lose because someone else did it first or you start at the back and work backwards because you assume the others are starting at the front - or wether you just hit em randomly and win because someone is going forwards and backwards - with 100 servers you should be able to at least hit 20+ if you use the right tactics

i dunno people claim this game needs more pvp but hate the pvp they have because other people are using better tactics than them - lol

What I mean is that if this feature's only purpose is to allow another player to watch your gateway then it's abusable.

For example: people can give admin rights to a group member in another timezone who will watch the gateway when they're offline. This'll make it only harder to perform PvP actions.

I don't think so really, some processes can't be killed on remotehost such as virus installs or uploads, so if someone was to watch your gateway using admin rights, they can only do so much such as closing delete processes or downloads, so it sort of balances itself out, Ive tried letting people in my group crack me to finish a download before, it just doesn't work most the time, you can't rely on people  21

other people cant finish your downloads or any other process you started

this scenario could easily be prevented by the admin rights only working after 24hours offline time

I mean recently I tried doing some S&Ds because someone else was doing the recover codes and i could NEVER get any, I made 100k in a day easy,<snip> just like all the missions really, a grind

Hopefully PVP missions will take the edge off of faction missions and change the flow
If the missions available were different for everyone it'd level the playing field as anyone could do them without some high player whos constantly online takinf every single one,

hmmm i think thats directed at me.

i do recover missions once or maybe twice a day - i start at about 20 past giving people ample time to do them in the first 40 mins i then speed through them before the rollover at 40 i then collect all of the 40 ones and clear them up by 60 - so whoever it is thats running the recovers - aint me.

same with decrypts i load up all the decrypts at a certain time of the day - the clock em off whenever they popup to be completed - again anybody who collects decrypts that are new the hour after should find no hassle in doing them.

in short place the blame on the right people. dont just accuse the one who you think it is based on the fact he uses a refresher.

I was actually thinking in the same direction when I did a few 'kill process' missions early in this round. I wonder why these missions are even around, they are scarce and meaningless in terms of HPD.

If these missions were more common and more lucrative then people will actually do these missions, which could automatically hold back both virii uploaders and mission grinders.

Why don't we reform the 'kill process' mission to a new faction mission ? The added ability point reward might even attract more people to these missions.

The idea about stocks is also good but won't it make things to complicated (escpecially for new players you are standing up for) ?

the kill processes need a update anyways - they complete even when the file completes doing what it was doing - ie a virii gets installed you go claim the 250 cash cause the process has been killed and a new one created in its place :P

no sweat no tears just easy cash.

nice addition but useless - as you will have to go and connect to the first one just to erase your logs which will ruin the whole point of having the bounce path in the first place ?

ummm... what? This update is just so you don't have to open / close multiple windows in the browser when creating your bounce chain...
Personally, when I bounce I just do it about 3 times, then bounce to the first again, clear the log there, then bounce further on the same chain.

if you bounce back to the first one then you just negated the whole point of bouncing to the first 3 - thanks you just saved me checking 3 servers in your bounce path - good job you have gold - otherwise you would suck at hiding your trail

Yeah, I've noticed that since this has gone in place I'm traversing 4-5 pages just to trace a bounce path...

lol just wait till someone has a 72 hour long bounce path - whatever is this world coming to
