Title: updates: kill process
Post by: siremi on April 11, 2010, 11:10:54 PM
- some Localhost processes could not be killied, prohibiting PvP: delete file, encrypt, decrypt, etc. These localhost processes can now be killed by a remote host.

- Virus activation when lauched by localhost can now be killed. e.g. Robber Baron virus install launched by localhost, or any other virus install, except Rev.

- Virus activation launched via remote access has to be killed on the origin gateway. Exception, localhost can kill an activation attempt on it.

- Revelation activation process can only be killed if done by a remote host on the origin host!
- If activated on localhost, the Revelation can only be stopped by the owner, or when task expires.

Maybe I've been playing on a different server, but as far as I remember it has always been like this.

And yes, it has actually happened to me a couple of times, that remotehost killed a baron activation of mine.

Yeah...Sometimes i've been able to kill a baron install, other times (this round iv eonly noticed really) I haven't been able to... so wut?
Maybe we should constantly buy IPs to kill Broks baron installs to stop him advancing  :5:

Yeah, you and Assassin seem to be buying lots of IP's lately.  I'm forced to change IP's every couple of hours now...

I've never been able to kill anyone's barron installs in the past.  I've found dozens, but each time it said failed.

In fact i've not been in your servers at all for a while now brok, be happy  :bodyguard:

Last time i got in was your research server, wasn't much interest though and it was late, and by the morning it was gone  :21:

I'm too strapped for cash and AP for that ^_^

Hmmm.... Interesting. I hadn't considered that.

Someone got in the other day and killed everything, as well as hit me with a Malware.  Pretty sure it was Assassin who then opened up the system for Piano Kitty to enter.  Piano appears to be newer player since he didn't IP change or try to cover his tracks.  I left him alone...

I found their IPs through each other actually...

You need a good malware bombing  :13:
Problem is with me not being gold, malware = everyone knows it's me

Hmm group server malware + donations could be good  :21:

Well, just had my first big baron file install killed.

Wouldn't be so mad about it, if it were not my research server.

The ONLY reason I even started the install on that server (and had that much BW) was the fact that the baron's could not be killed.

Well, you were the one complaining that I had all my BW tied up in another baron...

The goal was to have 1500 bw free on that server and no more.  I had it calculated out that it would take 8+ hours at 1500 bw to download my unhide files.  As I researched it even further it would have been even higher.

Gabrial got himself a nice little bonus along with ticking me off though...
