91  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Vending Machine (for buying AP with HPD) on: October 08, 2012, 01:09:03 AM
that costs a percentage of your total power in HPD to refill the energy bar

so say the percentage is 25%...and you have 100,000,000 power - then it will cost you 25,000,000 HPD to regain your energy

it could be in the form of an energy bar or drink

sofar, I'm just assuming, that we get 1 Action Points per minute
92  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Action Points - major update on: October 07, 2012, 07:16:03 PM
- an info board on the left will show the current connected IP, server time, available finances and AP at all times. Whenever you gain HPD or AP or use them, some -/+ will indicate that.

I'm sorry but this is what I currently have (and I am/is confuseding):
29.150.245.46
07-Oct-2012 19:51

Finances: 7,949,165,135.69 HPD
Time: 5893 AP (+5)

every time I see it as Time: 5893 AP (+5) I think this is a buG, maybe you can change so it's like Energy: 5893 AP (+5) (bc that's what it really is, isn't it? ...but I could be wrong!)

so what I'm saying is it should looks like this:
IP: 29.150.245.46
Time: 07-Oct-2012 19:51
Finances: 7,949,165,135.69 HPD
Energy: 5893 AP (+5)

mmmmm, maybe not...just make it:
29.150.245.46
07-Oct-2012 19:51

Finances: 7,949,165,135.69 HPD
Energy: 5893 AP (+5)

There have been some changes in the AP costs:

http://www.hacker-project.com/forum/index.php?topic=478.0

I've read all this topic and would like thank everyone, great feedback.

...I get a 404 when I try to and go to that link 21 (I like the animations on that it actually moves! ...okay so now I can see in the edity window they are movesing anyways...)
93  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / imma bring this back from the dead on: October 07, 2012, 06:55:48 PM
make this happen and it sounds like a good idea

but I'm thinking that bc it's Group Research
*then all members ability towards Research Wizard (ability) should be counted towards the research (point of having a Group is the work together part, right?)
*and all research is paid from the Group Account

...I dunno about AP tho - how about, make it so that there is an AP pool that every member can donate to but it can only be used for Group things and connat be taken/given back by any player (just like Group Finances)

and, we should be able to add boost to the research...like overloaded processes or something, but instead if all the members have the resources to beable to handle the research, then ...(this bit here gonna be hard to explain...) so say Group Leader want to start Group Research, then the process will begin as normal but won't start[1], and if the entire group want to boost it (it will show up on they Research panel) then they can open a process and host another instance ofor it on they own server...and if all members...

okay, let's take off from [1]:
say, it is begin as a process, but not started research any moment (so the clock hasn't started ticking)
just like when it's complete it will have green button saying task complete
but instead will say something like this task begin/start/ready
so that gives time for other Group Members to join and contribute the research
and what will happen when the Group Members add to the research is they will have process on they server (cannot be killed...only GS process, which kills all associated processes...but can be traced using Process Tracer)
and the...

this is what will look like:
research file #4133 (100h*7) | Firewall Protect V 0.1 [localhost], 59m 56s

so that, maybe you will notice, there is 100h*7 ...so that means that there is 6 other members contributing (plus 1 for the running instance on the GS)

if there are multiple tasks on the GS, then for every task on GS, must also create on all other Group Members server who want to contribute (so not only have to upgrade GS, also every Group Members servers as well)
94  Feedback Terminal / "Bugs" and Problems / Re: Faith research on: October 07, 2012, 06:26:11 PM
if this is still true, I think they should both beable to be stopped...my reasononing is that while the research is going on that the file could be deleted and that way any research wouldn't beable to be completed anyway

(I know this is old, but somehow I got here while searching for some help with research....imma try an narrow my search a little)
95  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Remote Attack Disruptor on: October 07, 2012, 10:08:03 AM
...okay, so maybe I got this all wrong?

when it happens, there is a process in Running Softwares on both servers (virii host and target) so now I'm assuming you just use the Remote Attack Disruptor on the process running on your own server (target) instead of having to crack their system to cancel the attack... but I could be wrong (haven't tested that far jet)
96  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Ranking list on: October 07, 2012, 09:59:50 AM
at the same time, you can't tell if they are in a group before you attack for something. but, if it's for pvp mission, i guess you could always check faction standings...

but you can check if they are in a group by going to http://www.hacker-project.com/index.php?action=friend_list
from there all you do is search for them and it shows if they are in a group (or alternatively you can just type in a groups tag to see all members that carry that tag)

...or maybe I misunderstand you?
97  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Log AutoDeleter on: October 06, 2012, 09:48:57 PM
FREE VERSION
50% of the Deleter version (so if Deleter 0.1, then only deletes logs to version 0.05)
and can only be used if there is a Deleter of equal/lesser version than itself

PAID VERSION
100% of the Deleter version
higher version costs less HPD per log autodeleted

THESE APPLY TO BOTH VERSIONS
+150% AP per usage (5AP)
both AutoDeleter and Deleter must be running simultaneously (but you don't run both manually, only AutoDeleter and it will automatically open a running process for Deleter aswell)

I feel it is balanced by the AP usage
...maybe make a poll for free vs paid?

for first week of new players game can have logs deleted automatically (replaced with "attempting to delete this log is useless, it is under new player protections" or something ...then other players without said protections can use this also when they modify their logs 5)
...actually, no, I change my mind - incorporating log deletes into the tutorial sounds like a much better idea (but their logs should still be protected for the first week - "new player protection scheme")

98  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Overclocking Abilities on: October 06, 2012, 09:07:29 PM
...can we have "overclocking"? (but with the risk of completely destroying the server)
there should be a variance between servers, so it's all just down to luck...every server different (random generated) otherwise every player just overclock until they figure the safety percent
that way it's a risk to overclocking (say a 50% chance that the server cannot be overclocked at all, so it would basically be destroyed with any overclocking attempt)
OTHERWISE all overclocking would require "overclocking software", and higher version will give better results but still a risk of breaking the server
...or maybe it doesn't destroy a server but, say you want to overclock HDD, if fails then HDD is lose everything and still damages HDD by a percent
*means that most player will overclock in the beginning to find a stable setting

should beable to sell servers for ~50% or ~25% of value worth, but if it a broken system then you only get ~1% or 5% value worth

this could replace "overloading"? NO. because it's just hardware level, otherwise it would make all software on system becomes super software or something...

(this resulted from/while me posting here: http://hpforum.etvirtualworlds.com/index.php?topic=3701.0)
99  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Automatic overload on: October 06, 2012, 08:48:22 PM
I agree with GlitchH4xor.

but some question about "33% version increase for a  100% resource increase every level"

say you have v100 and you overload by 2X, will it be v166 or v176.89 (+33% of v133)? ...imma assume it will use resources equivalent for v300 either way?

...maybe add overloading Protects by 1% version for 100% resource? (could make overloading possible for all software...unless they be installed, so only for running software not installed software?)

100  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / n/a on: October 06, 2012, 08:35:40 PM
- hidden viruses shouldnt be displayed in Running Software if hidden lvl > running unhider
...I made a suggestion like this too, but now I'm thinking it should be that if a process is being hidden then there should be a hiding process running in it's place, or something...

*edit* - imma add that to my suggestion

- remove the rule that max hidden level is file version + 0.2
...why not just increase the file version? ...oh, what, you want to hide others software from them completely? why not just delete the file instead? then it's gone for good (sure it doesn't take up their HDD, but they can't use it anymore...)
imo, it is very fair to keep the cap to 0.2 above file version (but I feel that it could be raised - not removed) that way others can see any software you have hiding on your own system and so they can steal it 16

- remove notification about spyware intercepting
...so what, what would happen when they try to collect? they can't collect anything from that virus...so you want it to just be completely hidden from them when they hit collect? (I believe that's what Virus Breaker is for - it completely removes the virus from their Softwares page aswell as from when they want to collect...it almost as if it don't even exist!)
101  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Remove these annoying voting sites. on: October 06, 2012, 08:19:09 PM
use Firefox, it's the best ;)
102  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Ranking list on: October 06, 2012, 08:16:44 PM
maybe this is a good thing, you leave the lower players alone until they have enough power?
103  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Suggestion for networks on: October 05, 2012, 08:10:36 PM
so we can create sort of like a LAN?

I don't agree with... maybe if we include MAC address
problem with only one IP per player is which computer is recieving downloads....this means that you don't upgrade individual server bandwidth? bc then you need a router to route all the connections to the right server...so you just ugrade the router and it upgrades the bandwidth across all servers?

if every server doesn't have a unique identifier (currently an IP address) then the system won't work, imo but I could be wrong

I think you should be able to create a Group Network, connected to GS, so that when a player connects their server to the GS, it is removed from the World Wide Network...the GS wouldn't be accessible by other players (only by Group Members who are given permissions to enter the Group Network)
this would give strengths to having Group...but then, what's the point for Secure FTP (so not gonna happen)

...sorry, I couldn't be bothered reading everything, so I may be lacking informations (maybe I'll get around to it later)
104  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / PvP (installing HPD-earning virii on other players server) on: October 05, 2012, 07:55:42 PM
whenever you spend HPD (on things like Software/Hardware/Research/etcetera) it should show the transfer of HPD to-and-from the "Anonymous software dealer", and also your bank, in your logs (on your server - the one that was involved in the financial transactions)

so it would show how much you spent and on what you spent it on (or just referencing what it was for)
and also reveal your bank balance (final amount left after the completed transaction)

if spent on Software: then the logs would show on the server that received the software
if spent on Hardware: the logs would show on the server(s) being upgraded
if spent on Research: the logs would show on the server hosting the research
if received from virii on (un)owned servers: logs would show on the server hosting that particular virus (one log per virii installed/collected)

...so it would say something like this

Software logs:
xxxxxxxxxx HPD transferred to the Anonymous software dealer
total balance: xxxxxxxxxx HPD

System Upgrades logs:
xxxxxxxxxx HPD transferred to the Anonymous hardware engineer
total balance: xxxxxxxxxx HPD

Research logs:
xxxxxxxxxx HPD transferred to the Anonymous computer scientist
total balance: xxxxxxxxxx HPD

(owned server) Virii Farm logs:
xxxxxxxxxx HPD stolen from [target_Faction]
total balance: xxxxxxxxxx HPD

(unowned server) Virii Farm logs:
xxxxxxxxxx HPD stolen by [player_Name]
total balance: xxxxxxxxxx HPD

transferring funds to Group account (show in GS logs):
xxxxxxxxxx HPD donated from [player_Name]
total balance: xxxxxxxxxx HPD

*logs can be upto 71 characters in length per line (so there is plenty more room for most of them)

...I also think we should be able to use our AP for research and that it should accomplish much greater amounts of research than for paying for it (bc then we doing the research all by ourselves)

and HPD spent on GS should also make logs for them on GS (if you a member of the Group, then it shouldn't cost any AP to manipulate/edit GS logs)

...WHY THE HELL DOES IT "Cost: 2 AP" FOR GS LOGS?!?!?! (I am group member...leader actually, so imo it shouldn't cost me anything to do this)
105  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / CAPTCHA, I hate those thing on: October 04, 2012, 03:00:17 PM
slavehack has ~0.5-hourly CAPTCHAs ...I don't play that game anymore

when you was trying to hack something, you get a CAPTCHA right when you didn't need it

like if you where doing something banking, and then when you try to clear your logs before some other player see's your financial details, then you get a CAPTCHA (straight after clicking the button to clear logs) and find out, when after you've been thru the CAPTCHA, that the logs didn't clear - so now some other player has your bank and hacks it (you lose EVERYTHING)

it's in those time critical situations that CAPTCHA should be completely avoided, otherwise I leave
