How about an option to sell unwanted servers, maybe for a percentage/fraction of the buying price? A couple of times i have an idea, bought a server for it, then changed my mind (lol), then that server is just sitting around doing nothing.

The more welcome one (for me at least) would be an option to downgrade a server, and when you do so, you receive, say, 1/3rd of the cost, so downgrading a server from 1,000,000 CPU to 500,000 CPU would give you 800,000 HPD back (assuming gold and it cost you 2,400,000 for the hw).

Wouldn't be much of an update, but welcome nonetheless, as mistakes can be made, and it would help to lessen the feeling of 'oh s**t, did i really just do that!?' /lol.

What do you think?

Yeah but it would cost you a great deal to do so, there's a catch 22 with most things nowadays so why worry? /lol

Plus there is a way to do that anyway,(not sell your bw, but prevent stealing) if you know the howto :laugh:

True, but it takes time. And we have shown in this round that money is not a problem. Time is :)

We'll see how it goes. If we can find a way to prevent abuse and implement it, it will be done.

How would this be abused?  I mean honestly even selling the hardware back at a reduced price per the OP Suggestion doesn't allow for abuse as you end up with less overall HPD value than prior to selling.

This suggestion makes much more sense now that private farms are history. I have a few empty server to sell ...

implementation:-

adjustment to the malware virii logic = if server is owned by the activator then collect some cash based on its destruction.

scenario:-
player wishes to lower his BW by 100
installs a malware overload bomb virii
waits for it to charge up (preferably with expected results)
activates the virii - collects 100HPD(variable)
dis-infects virii

Can I have an option to destroy my server? I don't need to get money back from it, but now that I can't use it as a farm it's useless, someone could acctually use it to take money from me and I don't want to have to protect it, I just want it dead.

Same, I logged on today and someone has installed tons of fileshares on my old server now that I've formatted it... guess I'll just have to IP change and keep IP changing until the round ends...

I had all the downloads/tasks/research killed on my rev server this morning, but the culprit was even c,ocky enough not to use an IP change, so they have just got their entire server hidden+encrypted, now for the malware...shame there's only 53 bw :10: :laugh:

Edit: Haha, it seems auto-sanitation does not like the word c,ocky (it becomes thingyy), so that comma is not a typo :)

who is trying to stop rev ???? i thought it was a unanimous decision that round 2 was over ?

I wouldn't blame him if it was to prove a point, the point being that WE are in control of when the round ends :laugh:

And if he is working alone, then he is doing a darn good job if you ask me, that was until i bumped it back up to 7 /lol

True :) But disinfects will be finished in about 15 hours (4 or 5 of them) and because we can't install more than one rev every 6 hours - he really is in control :)
