Title: HP Banners CONTEST - Prizes for the winners!
Post by: siremi on February 20, 2009, 03:20:22 PM
We are starting a banner contest. I will need several great banners in order to start an advertising campaign for HP.

Here are the possible banners you can create:

Formats: 728x90, 468x60, 120x600, 160x600, 300x250, 125x125.
File Types: GIF, JPG, PNG, SWF. Size limit is 60,000 bytes, except for 125x125 limited to 40,000 bytes.
Restrictions: No extreme animation / strong flashing / visual irritation. No vulgarity / nudity / graphic violence.
Flash Banners: Must contain clickTAG opening in new window, no direct URLs. clickTAG info (http://www.google.com/search?q=clickTAG+tutorial).
Flash CPU Usage: Must not exceed 10% average per banner on a 2ghz dual core test machine.

For each format, the top two banners will be selected as winners.
The prize will be $20 in partner credit for each banner selected.
You can create more banners in different sizes and win in more categories :)

Criteria to determine winners:
- interesting visual and eye catching texts in the banner frames.
- banner should contain the www.hacker-project.com  (http://www.hacker-project.com) in one or more of the frames
- story, does it stick in the memory?
- does it make you click it?

Please use the upload feature to upload your banner in this topic so we can select them.

Thank you and good luck!

Not bad! Perhaps a suggestion? People should now that it is a game :)
Hmm .. or maybe not - perhaps they will click it because they think it's real ...

Slow down the animation some IMO.   Other than that it looks good.  I am impressed.

It's really great.

How about, after "Hack the mega-corporations", next frame it says "Ultimate hacking simulation".
Then on the last frame where the HP name appears, should also say "Play Now", maybe in red letters?

Thank you.

Looking good. Can you cut the install virii, install spyware frames (I have a feeling size is > 60kb) and upload it on forum again.
Hopefully size will be < 60 kb so we can use it.

Thank you.

as if i would break a entry ruling like 60k the one on the top is 59.9 - the one on the bottom is 56.1

re-uploading as requesting

if you want it without the 2 installing virii and spyware screens - let me know - but figured it was just a space saving measure

I decided to give a try too.
I had something like this in mind but I'm struggling to get it under 60kb, so I welcome any suggestions to reduce the size.

I've been putting my previous design into a 468x60 banner. I don't like the looks as much as the other one but atleast it's under 60kb now ....

Hello Everyone.

Sjums and myself, have been making this banner here.... let us know what you think about it...

I know the texture is a bit quick, but otherwise it's going to be a little long....

Computer game from ancient history.
But my design was inspired by the 'bouncing' screen in uplink.

Did anyone win yet?  :13:

Sick of seeing this at the top, and a bit cheap to have a contest and not announce a winner.
Especially since the best one has now quit the game.
