Short description: You are sent on a bounce trail in order to recover the origin log. Amount: 2 missions on each public server, 1 mission for each secret server Description is more detailed for the public server version. It assumes you are a newbie and details what needs to be done. Example of public server "Follow the trail": Quote We need an experienced hacker to trace a log trail left by an unauthorized access on one of our servers. Our sources indicate that you will need a Log UnDeleter V 0.1 to do this mission. The intruder most likely bounced via several servers, so you need to check each server until you get to the Origin point. The log ID that starts the trace is Log ID: 739502 located on our server. Make an Admin Login into the server, click on Logs and Search for the specified Log ID. Make sure the Log UnDeleter is running, then click on Recover. The recovered log should look like this: "Proxy connection from [YYY.YYY.YYY.YYY] to [ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ] established." Marked with Y's is the IP you need to crack / admin login to get to the next bounce node. Note the Date/Time of the log and look for the same time on the next server to find the next bounce log. The time of the connection remains constant, making it easier to track the intruder. Connect to the server with the Y's and Recover the log with the same Date/Time. There may be two log entries for the same time, one is the Ingoming proxy log, and the other is the Outgoing proxy log. You want to recover the incoming log and see where the connection came from. Repeat the procedure until you get to the origin point. The Origin point looks like this: "Origin proxy connection to [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] established." Marked with X's are the numbers of the IP you need to find. Your objective is to Recover the Origin log entry. Warning! Note: Time is of the essence. If someone modifies the trace logs with a higher version of Deleter software, you may not be able to complete this mission, so make haste. We will transfer the reward when you complete the objective. The secret server description is in less detail. At that point you should know what to do. Get to the origin log and recover it. Our sources indicate that you will need a Log UnDeleter V 1.11 to do this mission. Your objective is to trace and Recover the Origin log entry. Warning! Note: Time is of the essence. If one of the bounce trail servers changes IP, you may not be able to complete this mission, so make haste. We will transfer the reward when you complete the objective. Mission will automatically complete when the origin log is recovered. Only one player can complete the mission of course, but they can compete for them like always. The first to get to the origin log and recover it gets the reward. The secret server mission pays a lot more but requires higher software and maybe more time to crack servers... bounce trail is longer and risk is greater if one of the servers changes IP... It's exactly what a mission should be like. It requires you to put in an effort, but once you get the ball rolling it has a great HPD/AP ratio. |
