wait so if people get ahead in this game they may be added to the storyline and used for target practice? i cant decide if thats incredibly epic or if it's incredibly unfair. it may take a while to make up my mind on that.

I don't know about target practice, this is just an article of what is happening in the game.

Although I am surprised there was no mention of the .5 adware that has started popping up on a Secret Icarus Server from an unknown source.

IMHO This news is now one of the coolest aspects of the game.  Rarely do browser-based MMOs have even quasi-active plots.

Yes this does make this game a lot cooler than the rest.

It will be very cool to see how things continue.  Heck I may even start sending Sir Emi some things in game that can be used.

I put what I saw it was happening, and added some stuff that could happen, but didn't notice the 0.5 Adware & 0.5 Spyware. Well it seems like things are about to get interesting :)

This is cool. Especially Soviets virii. Doesnt a 0.1 fileshare bring in over 150HPD/h? Because I believe that he used fileshare. Then the fact that he have researched a BIGGER version and have infected SEVERAL secret servers... I want his income.

But which kind of server should be big enough for that?

i have around 8 v0.3 file sharing virii which bring in 184 hpd an hour, and numerous adware.

Problem now is this plague of spyware which means i have to watch over my babies like a hawk T_T

I saw a v0.306 file share with about 8 adware which was 0.2 or 0.206. Im not sure about the versions of the adware but was it so you had it?

Well its nice that people have a little more personal names on their software. Either their own (nick)name or another word/name for it that no one else have. Thats just pretty nice.

thats because malware at this point in the game is like nuclear weapons, noone is willing to make the first strike for fear of repercusisons, and as such, noone considers it when thinking of these things.

I wouldn't say no one.  But the big problem is with the new cap on the BW for private servers.  It basically broke Malware until the high end game where hundreds have pipelines > 500 KB

well give the others some time to develop first, I don't think it would be fun for them is someone would force malware down their gateways when they are 20x times lower then the attackers power :)

Since Sir Emi has been so busy with updates to continue his story.

I just want to say that recent findings has shown Omnicron to start taking a interest in the younger hackers.   As such SGP is debating possibly taking the war to Omnicron and drive them down as we have done to True Light and Icarus.

Except it doesn't matter, because as soon as you touch a public server, siremi just repairs it. There's no point to this game for higher players, except to be there so Siremi can make the game "balanced" by letting even the smallest noobs hack us. THAAAT'S FAIR, Folks.

HJ, I understand that you are fustrated with the game.  Most of us are at this point.  But continually being negative about it does not solve anything.   Provide constructive criticism and then Sir Emi may listen.

What I am trying to do now is provide some sort of story or background in the game for the enjoyment of all.  After all none of the other groups, The Cabal or EoD, are willing to do this at this time.  I hope it changes in the future but I doubt it.  Besides EoD screwed up.  They are picking on new players now.

Secret servers don't repair, you can attack them all you want.

 Hmmmm. . .  I feel a little sorry for True Light, but not enough to not want to nuke their servers. I mean, they unleashed Revelation, even if it was by accident, and they should understand that to protect the flow of information as we know it, their servers have to go.

On an unrelated note, I don't believe the attack on the file share server was commissioned by the Megacorps; that would mean HJ was working for them! No way that would ever happen. . . or would it? :P

I'm running behind on my scripting of data file content due to work and school but I'm hoping I'm not the only one contributing material and that the update will come soon. There seems to be some more hot ideas floating around the suggestions section lately so let's not focus too much on the data liberation idea. (But I will be thrilled when my idea is implemented.  :7: )

I don't know why you stopped doing the news, alot of people seemed to like it... but if you don't have time because you are working on updates I'm sure someone ingame could do it......

You could have an area were people could submit what happened that week in the game but have their name anymonus, and then whoever is doing the newscast can put it together and post it....

Actually, yeah I am thinking on making this news agency server that will be available ingame.

Then the HP Evolution agency can hire reporters that are ingame players, and they can then edit / write news on a daily / weekly basis that will describe events and action and evolution of the game story.

So stay tuned for the HPE servers update :)

Yes I agree, it will make keeping up-to-date on what is going on alot easier. Especially when a new round starts. (plus it won't annoy people if you put it in during a round)

I doubt it will be as successfull as a pro sitting and writing by himself but it will be a lot better then Emis news thread. 2 articles atm.

Cut the man a break, he's probably just busy. He's running two games, you know. It's more efficient to delegate some of the details to others.
