Title: Trades
Post by: ManoftheSea on June 24, 2008, 09:06:14 PM
Currently, information is shared only with a massive amount of trust.  I can break someone open, and force a download of my awesome files.  But I have no reason to do so, because they are no benefit to me.
Would it be possible to set up an escrow type service?  Or allow hackers themselves to create jobs with some form of assurance of payment-delivery?

I'll think more, and figure out exactly what I mean.  Maybe someone else will understand?

i think you mean something along the lines of hiring hacker mercenarys, i like this idea, although there would need to be some new codeing to protect against multis.

player-made missions, in essence, with a guarantee that the promised funds WILL be wired to you upon conpletion, is the basic idea.

My thoughts at the moment are related to the catagories of job availiable/level of payment. Or just plain regulation for that matter.

I would also add in software as possible rewards both for player made and npc made missions

Players should be able to give other players money. It would add a whole new game play element. Players giving private missions, IP's, or maybe just paying another hacker for keeping his IP off of some forum.

This has much too high of a chance to either:
1. become broken with people having the proxy power to slip past the multi-account filter or...
2. become broken with high-level players using a vassal system

or you could use a system wherin the player made missions cant be accepted  by people the same ip(real life ip) as the person setting up the mision, and you cant put up missions that you dont have the money for.

I'm also concerned about the possible multi abuse this allows. IPs are certainly not a safe way to check who a player really is, and other measures might be circumvented too.

There's some RL software/scripts that you can get which make it extremely hard to ip mask or proxy bounce.  Trust me.

+ if I find out someone is using a multi I'll just malware the hell outta them.
