Title: Good hacking games
Post by: BlackPhantom on April 23, 2011, 09:58:16 PM
I have been curious what people think what makes a good hacking game. Is it MMOishness of The Hacker Project, the visual excitement and suspense of Uplink (http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/), and/or the deep and different game play mechanics of games like Neuromance (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/1041/Neuromancer.html)r? I want your people's opinions. My opinion is that I like the challenge and competition of The hacker project, but I also loved Uplink's visual flair and depth. And who could forget Neuromancer's unique story, and fantastic view of the internet from the mid 1980's.

Mothafunk a Uplink. Mothafunk a Neuromancer. Play HP all day or I'll kill your kid's friend's dog

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necromancer_(video_game) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necromancer_(video_game))
I couldn't find any evidence of hacking about that game so I cannot understand how it could be "a good hacking game"
Quote from: Wikipedia
The game is an arcade-type action title. The player controls the wizard Illuminar who attempts to grow an army of large trees to attack Tetragorn the Necromancer and his evil minions who are attempting to take over a graveyard.
although under Gameplay it does state that "Necromancer consists of three distinct sections, as in a three-act play." and you did mention "the deep and different game play mechanics of games like Neuromancer"
