Title: Diffrient premium packages
Post by: asdfth12 on March 24, 2013, 05:56:26 AM
Basic idea - Split up the current gold memberships into two diffrient packages, Bronze and Silver, and add a new, special, upgrade.

Description change - $.50
One time change of your server description. Would have the option to revert back to the standard description. If a diffrient custom desciption is desired, would have to buy again. Description would last until the next round.

AP
Bump the current AP bonus amount to 500 from the current 350.

Bronze - $10
One Time Bonus - Current bonuses
Additional AP - 4k recharge
Bounce - 10 Nodes
Ad-Free

Silver - $20
One time Bonus - 2x current
Additional AP - 5k Recharge
FTP Access - Yes, but BW would be used when downloading from the FTP
Bounce - 20 nodes
Virus - current amount
Able to freely edit server description
HW/UPG prices - -10%
Ad-Free

Gold - $30
One time bonus - 3x current
Additional AP - 6k recharge
FTP Access - Full access, uploads and downloads work as they currently do
Bounce - 20 Nodes
Able to freely edit server name and description
HW/UPG prices - -20%
Standing bonus - 10%
Virus - Current Amount
Ad-free

Platnium/Lifetime - $100
Everything in gold (I'm to lazy to retype it.)
Standing bonus changed to +20%
pvp bonus - +20%

A person can upgrade to a new package if they wish - If they get bronze and then decide to upgrade to Gold then they would simply donate the diffrence - $20. When upgrading to a new package their current time remaining wouldn't reset - It would remain as is. If they let their premium account expire, then the cost to renew it would be (with the exception of the lifetime package) half of it's cost. If you have bronze and renew for another year, $5. Silver, $10, Gold, $15.

Adding a standing bonus and a higher AP recharge amount to the Gold is pretty much greater reward for the higher cost.

*Current amount means what that bonus is currently for gold. The one time bonus is X amount, so Bronze would get X amount, Silver 2X amount, Gold 3x amount. Same for viruses  - What the current limit is right now for gold is what it would be under the changed packages.

...LOL! :P

Gold Account:
$20 (price)
20 nodes (bounce/proxy)
20% off Hardware/Research costs
20 Gb (FTP)
...as you can see it's 1$ per node/%off/Gb

prizes per round = $210 ($60+$40+$30+$20+$10+$10+$10+$10+$10+$10)
with an average of 1.8 rounds per year that's $378/year just in prizes alone
- servers/development cost money too (it has been more than ~5 years now)

lifetime would have to be something like $1k if you are being serious

I think "Ad-Free" is a joke unless the ads are hardcoded into the website since they can easily be bypassed using simple ad-blockers
I also disagree with the standing bonus, pvp bonus and HW/UPG prices...not sure if you mean Hardware/Research but you can lower the price even further by using up Ability Points

under the circumstances FTP shouldn't require bandwidth (unless it's only limited by the server/servers using the connection, in which case it already is since I'm sure we have to upload to FTP but maybe you meant downloading from the FTP aswell?), and if anything storage space should be made alot cheaper
FTP HDD should cost something like $10 per 1000 Gb

maybe have Hacker Project Credits...$1 = 1 HPC
- if you don't have a premium account then it costs 0.01 HPC to change IP Name/Description per server each time
- and/or it could cost 1% of your Power in HPD

"New features will be available faster if more players would choose to upgrade, as this will motivate me to make The Hacker Project more enjoyable.
So, with your Gold upgrade you are also helping The Hacker Project and it's creator in developing this great game." - Sir Emi

I'm sure that changes as teh round progresses it will rise upwards, when the round is close to ending both HPD and AP go up considerably
