Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Top Ranking

I would like to see another ranking which is Power divided by time online. Or divided by AP spent. I guess that would be something of an efficiency rating.

Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Ip database

I've also been thinking that it would be nice if, when you hover your mouse over the 'IP Database' link in the left menu, a pop-up list would appear with the main categories (All servers Public Secret Private Owned Admin) which you could then click on.
So with one action from anywhere you could go directly to a sub-category in the IP database.
You could extend this idea to most of the left menu items for quick movement thru the whole web space. Most every page would be one action (and only one page load) away.

Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: over powered newbie protection

two suggestions
one- if a player is under newbie protection DON'T let the software dealer sell his IP (thereby wasting my HPD)
two- if a player under newbie protection cracks anything other than a public server they lose newbie protection (perhaps warn them first)

Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / bot program
|
on: July 26, 2008, 11:05:38 PM

I would like to automate certain things.
One example is a newbie Adware farm. I've gotten it down to something of a system.. I know exactly how I will configure an 'empty' kiddie cracker server, for example. At this point it's just a matter of sitting here clicking the same things repetitively.
I would like to be able to somehow capture my adware setup in a bot program. The bot program would be generated by a bot creator program.
The bot creator program would be run and pointed at an existing server. It would take a snapshot of running processes and create a new bot program. To use the created bot program, you simply run and point it at a new target server (perhaps you have to prep it in some way like disinfect existing virii) and it creates a clone of the initial server you captured. You can run and re-run the bot program (which of course requires times to run and takes up resources on your gateway).
You could eventually have an army of various bot programs that you could send out in stages and waves to various target systems. You could even take it to the next level which would be a rudimentary scripting of bot programs (hit target with this bot then hit it with that bot etc.... OR run this bot on these target IPs in a sequence).

Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / downreving

I would like to be able to run my software at a lower version level on my gateway. So if I have hide version 1.0 I could choose to run it at 0.5 effective version.
Also, I would like to reverse engineer software to lower versions. If I have version 1.0 Adware, for example, I would like to be able to split off a version 0.5 if I wish (I would end up with both the 1.0 and a 0.5 version sitting in my file system).
I'm not gonna go into details but running things at specific lower versions is useful.

I think on the surface a free market system would appear to give the lone individual access to higher level software but overall it would tend to increase the gulf between the elite and common players.

Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / CPU virus

I propose a new type of virus that's focus is to steal and use your CPU cycles for profit. It would use a small amount of bandwidth and hard drive space but a LOT of CPU.
You could imagine a black market for illicit CPU power.. think of the SETI@home model and you get the idea.

Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / when you are being hacked..

it would be kind of cool if some of the characters on the web pages would be garbled here and there if someone is in the process of hacking your server.. kind of a subtle heads up 'something is awry'

HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: capture, hide, encrypt, disinfect balancing
|

- hide files maximum hide file version depends on file version + 0.2 (e.g. a virus with V 0.5 can only be hidden up to hide V 0.7 ). Using a higher hider version will only hide the file up to the file version + 0.2. Same for encryption.
wouldn't this work better as a percentage instead of absolute 0.2? So a v5.0 could hide a v7.0 maybe you already thought this thru and absolute is better for some reason

Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: research & the human factor

however i would think that the more hours you have logged for using a program would make you better with it, and so i would like to see research be quicker of cheaper if you've logged, lets say, an hour of use, then it would take only 30 minutes for that software to be upgraded instead of 1 hour..........
This sounds like a skill or ability. Use 'X' and you get better at the 'X skill'. We gonna turn this into a RPG with character stats?
