I second Gin, having commands you could use to further the research on a server would be nice.  Then with faction boards you could work together and pump a file with other Hakuza people to get really good software, and defend it from the other factions.

I also agree that the IP change might be a little powerful, maybe if the number of commands required was prohibitively high, but even then just the threat of it is kinda too much...

Well that's why you'd only do it in a group of trusted individuals  12

But I do see the point, a favorites tab in the IPDB would work but I was looking more for a way for group members to keep up on a member's server automatically.  I guess we can just stick with posting though  13

Sweet lord yes  13

That would be amazing for PvP and coordination.  How many commands for what ranks are you thinking, the instant IP change once per day could be a little overpowered though (use that server as your initial bounce, free IP change)

I would beg to differ, but that is why it would be optional.

Or maybe settings to show only to group members who are also your friend (or just all group members default)

I think a player should have the ability to mark a server as their "main" and have it show up in an individual servers section under the servers tab in groups, then you can follow a group member's server even after he IP changes.  Or you can choose not to show one if you're paranoid.

Will help with sharing and cooperation  12

My bad  12 I've been taking a lot of the Hakuza missions HJ  laugh
37  Feedback Terminal / "Bugs" and Problems / Overloading CPU? on: May 26, 2009, 03:28:55 PM
So it seems you can start any child process (100 CPU process spawned off a software you're running, like an unhide or a decrypt) even if it would overload your server CPU.  I started a bunch of decrypts and returned to my server to find it at 102%, checked on another server and I can still start decrypt processes... bumps me up to 103%  laugh

on a related note - someone asked for a group member search option

is it possible to add the group tags as part of the search lookup for the friends tab

that way i could search for SGP - and it will show players like SGPepper, [SGP]Ebolla etc etc

would kill 2 birds with one stone and shouldnt be too hard to implement.

Seconded.  Also, adding a whole group at friend/enemy/neutral would be cool as well.  Maybe show all combined stats for that status line in the list.

So what does having someone as a friend really do.  Can I see stuff about them?  Group, whether or not they are friends with another person, last activity is kinda nice but how specific does it get, and what kind of information does it give?

Heh I set my picture on the factions page but it would be cool if we could have a profile that is viewable by other players.  Maybe you can search for it or click on the name of the person in the top rankings/online list to see their profile.
43  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Unlisted Servers - Bouncing on: May 23, 2009, 01:02:03 AM
Everything I type when I'm inebriated looks wrong so I'm just gonna say this.

I'd rather have everyone bouncing into secret servers and have to PT them because I don't want to or can't trace their logs than people direct connecting and IP changing when they start the mission and having to PT them because I have no other choice.  That's my kind of PvP.
44  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Unlisted Servers - Bouncing on: May 22, 2009, 06:31:11 PM
I don't think allowing bounces into unlisted servers is bad, just don't allow bounces out (and therefore through) them.  That way it's not a cheap IP change, but you can at least try to hide yourself as you connect to do the mission.  It won't change much, you can still get PT'ed just as easy but this way you can at least stall people so you don't have to IP change every time you do a mission.
45  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Faction Secret Server Software on: May 22, 2009, 02:41:27 PM
Two part suggestion.  First, I think it would be interesting if faction secret servers had a slightly higher chance to spawn software of their faction's specialization, at a slightly higher version than other faction's secret servers.  That way, if you're looking for a certain software you'll check the servers belonging to the faction with that specialization first because they're more likely to be there.

Second, a faction aligned specific tab on the secret servers that only members can download from, and only non-members can delete from (for delete missions against that file).  This tab would contain software that is being "researched" by the server (can be faction spec software or not).  Make high-end delete missions on those softwares, and the longer they stay on the server the higher version they get (increase version every hour or something).  So, if you want a really awesome file you have to camp and defend that file against deletion.
