That's what I've been saying for so many years now, except that I wouldn't just remove AP. I would make sure noone can overload their AP.

Could it be that this update messed up the respawning of missions ?

Can't find any search and destroy mission since 12 hours or so

how many bandwidth is available on the other side ?

 

I believe there is a small reward for disinfecting virii on you factions servers.

This update makes sense, overloading hardware without any consequence is unrealistic.

But Alpha has a point also, this update makes remote malware even more overpowered as it already is.

I wish I had yet figured out a suggestion to balance things out 

OK, but my point still remains: it gives higher players an even bigger advantage than which they already have.

If you put it that way, I guess that Exousia had an account with ID # 5 before, in which case he has indeed been around longer, fair enough.
My ID is below yours (1409) while Exousia's ID is 8447, that's why I figured otherwise.

Let's get this thread back on track

Has anyone figured what devastating effect these insane protections have on players who join in during a round ? It's very demotivating for them once they realize that their way to the top is only getting longer and longer.

It's fair enough that higher players have the benefit of better hardware and a steady income, but it's not fair that only a small group of players have the chance to do the faction missions.

This defenitely needs to be changed if we want newbs to stay around longer.

I still like it

I think the IP leecher would be quite useless if you were required to install it on the target players' gateway first.
Even if that'd succeed it will be near impossible to accumulate enough hours to get a result.
