The text sais: "Only ONE Revelation virus can be installed on a single server host."

Currently there's two at the same gateway

Revelation virus technical details
Revelation virus has a chance to spawn on True Light research servers that have a password protect / firewall protect of at least version 1.0 or higher. When the virus is downloaded on a private gateway, it will leave a unique trace across the network and the server IP containing the virus will be visible across the world network in the Revelation Day room of the left menu. The virus will be visible regardless if it is installed or not.

Once installed, the virus will begin the process of collecting data for the purpose of starting the Revelation Day or Doom's Day. One information facilitator can only install ONE Revelation virus, regardless of how many servers one owns. Only ONE Revelation virus can be installed on a single server host.

If the Revelation virus has been installed, it will negate all defenses on the host it is running on. All incoming attacks will ignore defenses of the target if target has a Revelation installed on it. Further more, the Revelation virus can not be encrypted or hidden. Only ONE Revelation virus can be installed every 6 hours. If another Revelation install process completed, it will notify the remaining time before another Revelation virus can be installed. The Revelation virus can not be uploaded on a Secure FTP.

Plz read this and then check the Revelation Day page

For private servers, the leech will reveal a random server, with a small chance for a server with higher software on it.

@Siremi: I'm still trying to figure this thing out .... do you mean I can install a leech on my own gateway and it'll return another players IP (if succesfull) ?

You were right about the IP dealer btw; The leech as it is now can not replace it.

37  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: New software added, changes to Nmap Scanner on: June 17, 2010, 03:09:33 AM
the "IP Leech" virus reveals an IP of a server in the same network.

Can you define 'same network' Siremi ? Does this mean all the public/secret/private/unlisted servers of the same faction ?

For private servers, the leech will reveal a random server, with a small chance for a server with higher software on it.

Cool 1 Can we get rid of the IP dealer now ?

- Nmap Scanner has been renamed to "IP Scanner" for better understanding of its function.

Excellent 1 But does the same principal still apply ? No result when scan blocker is higher than IP scanner ?

Alpha is right, but it only seems to 'work' with private servers

Plz do create a seperate topic for your suggestion Donn; I like this idea very much.

I can think of several different area's for the various rankings (earned virii income, earned mission income, overall earned income, software, hardware, hours of research).
And offcourse the overall ranking which takes all area's into account.

I suggest running a scan blocker instead of an IP cloaker  19

Below v1.0 it's still +v0.006 per hour

You're mixing some things up here I think:

If you purchase an IP from the software dealer, you purchase the IP from someone elses server (it can be private, public or secret server).

When you purchase a new (private) server from the hardware dealer, the IP of this server can be found by other players. Either by buying the IP from the software dealer or when they traced you after connecting to others server.
43  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: New round changes / updates on: February 09, 2009, 03:59:29 AM
I think the reason for this update was to let starting and/or lower ranking players have a bigger chance to find a place to install their own virii (without taking risks to desinfect or capture already taken servers first). From this point of view this is succesfull update.

On the other hand: I have to agree that the servers disappear to rapidly. There's no point at all to install virii on secret servers, not even for the lower ranking players (their uploads will take even longer due to lower bandwidth).
I hope Emi will do something about this. I would suggest a timer in the region of 500 hours (3 weeks).
44  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Secret server IP Change & other updates on: January 20, 2009, 02:41:15 PM
Why should he do something about that ?
I've also found myself forced to cancel a few delete missions which had been running for over 400 hours ... so what ? IMO that's part of adapting to the new (improved) gameplay.
