Also, I wanted to give some nice missions for newbies to battle on. The one that deletes that big files gets nice HPD 1)

i was first in line to delete a passy bypass v9 on a 0.1 server - after the 18h or whatever it was i still hadnt found the mission to delete the file :(

was my 3rd high version delete failure aswell :(
407  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Mission increase on public servers, update to soft dealer prices on: February 22, 2009, 12:19:48 AM

- 3x increase in public server missions available.

after a few days i think i can safely say there is not enough of us lower levels for the amount of missions out there atm - maybe consider x1.5 or x2 rather than the x3 ???
408  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Secret server IP Change & other updates on: February 21, 2009, 04:47:16 PM
what i actually meant is say a server thats at about v22 when it reset rather than going to 24 or whatever it goes back to 2 and starts again, keeping the total servers at 200 but not all over 5.8 and increasing.

i'm not actually sure i like the static server idea as it just gets clogged with junk like the public servers. if anything move the public servers further apart rather than all 40 at 0.1 move them about a bit

do you make moren then 2-3 mil a day?

not yet but then neither does he, and i make more in 1 hour than he does with his farm
410  Hacker Project Café / Game Room / Re: My hill on: February 21, 2009, 05:46:57 AM
i wait over a hundred years for the vapor of the hill to resettle and claim the newly formed hill with molecules of Exousia intertwined as  MINE

so My Hill !!!! ( with parts of Exousia )

362: nice to see others are finding info segments to accompany their numbers - woohoo
412  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Cracking a server without connecting on: February 21, 2009, 02:59:27 AM
can we make the cracker like the ip scan - so we just type it in rather than connect and crack.
413  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: Banner contest on: February 21, 2009, 02:57:47 AM
also rules like gif anim or flash anim etc ???

let me know so i can start work on it - and if were allowed flash anims do we get disqualified if we put our tracker code in the link :P

I don't know if this is urgent... But nobody can make money unless they have a farm...

i'd have to disagree slightly on this point

me and a friend both joined up together

he went the virii farm route - i went the missions route

granted i have to spend a lot more time "playing" than he does but i think i'm earning more money doing missions than he is doing farming.

415  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Mission increase on public servers, update to soft dealer prices on: February 21, 2009, 02:26:25 AM

- 3x increase in public server missions available.
- lower growth rate of the files version on secret servers by 2.5X times, version increase by 0.02 instead of 0.05

- 3x costs for software dealer best software
- Revelation can not be purchased from software dealer

God Speed!

nice update means less server hoping for me

although can we have an increase on the max 15 processes ?
and is there a limit on the mission list area ???
both my lists are hitting 700+ now

but thanks for the update - nice to see your back around - i had started to feel neglected - so gratz

416  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Secret server IP Change & other updates on: February 21, 2009, 02:23:56 AM
I think the updates to secret servers are going to make the game really crappy for new player.

Horray! You get ONE secret server.  After a little while when all the other servers are upgraded, a new player comes in.  Their choices for making money at the start: deletes on public servers, deletes on the ONE secret server.  Awesome, funnel all the new players into that constrained competition area.  I don't know about others, but I really never did deletes on public servers since there was too much competition for them.  Trying to nab them off secret servers that I could crack into was a better bet (at least in round one before all this BS)

Now, though, they will have to sit on their hands forever and hope that they get a little trickle of money from public server delete missions to eventually get better breakers to break the... what... v3 or whatever protects that may be on most secret servers by that time?

i know this thread is starting to get cobwebs but.....

as a new player i would like to comment on this post

i was stuck at 0.5 level software when i found the v2.0 secret server ---

i am now actively hunting all the secret servers

so far i have 149 servers up and running and the lowest is 5.8 and yes thats one huge jump from v2.0

the next few are

38.XXX.XXX.XXX   5.8
57.XXX.XXX.XXX   8.3
141.XXX.XXX.XXX   8.85
55.XXX.XXX.XXX   9.1
86.XXX.XXX.XXX   10.35
80.XXX.XXX.XXX   10.55
220.XXX.XXX.XXX   10.75
83.XXX.XXX.XXX   10.95

so unless i get really lucky and the 5.8 is full of juicy software i'll be stuck researching again for some time

so from the new players point of view this server jumping idea is harsh now but will be really harsh in a few months when the 5.8 goes above 10.0

would it be possible to maybe create a few new servers at around 2.0 every week or so to help us newbs out ????

350:
News From January 2009 : Self-confessed hacker Gary McKinnon will stay in the UK for the next month while the director of public prosecutions (DPP) considers whether to try him in the UK or wether to honour the US's Extradition request.

Gary McKinnon is accused of hacking into 97 US federal and military computer systems, and of trying to get into 73,000 others where he caused damage worth at least £350 thousand pounds

McKinnon was arrested in 2002 but the US asked for his extradition only in 2005. McKinnon, who admits hacking US military computers, has lost his appeal against extradition in every court available to him.

I will talk with Exousia about the IP Db suggestion.

We'll try to come up with a good idea to make the Db easier to use and we'll then suggest it to Sir Emi.

making them sortable by ip would be a start
