I propose an increase in the limits to secret server missions, not sure about normal ones, but the number of faction missions available is just outrageous.

Currently available are three (3) S&D missions, and one (1!!!!!) recover codes missions, now since there are only around 16 (so far i've been unable to find more) secret servers in the open, and so many people playing (including new players) we need more of them to appear, or for them to generate more often, ive just ran through all the faction servers i have, did all the short deletion missions and the faction recover codes missions, and nothing appeared again for nearly (or could have been over) 1 hour.

I think the numbers should be increased slightly, say to about 4-5 S&D missions, doesn't need much tweaking as not many people can run decryptors at the beginning, and either the same amount, or 3-4 recover codes missions, that would spread out the gain a little more for the newbies 19

Recover missions stealhly increased to 2-3. I am not sure as I did the other one aviable in the same hour

I think it was an excellent round and we have learned a great deal. May the new round bring a lot of new features, like groups, group servers, group assets and more.

Why you cannot do that beta testing?

Pleae, give us a reason.

It's simply time consuming and most of the players will not understand why a new round has to end so soon. By the end of the two weeks, no one will want another reset.

I was meaning around why not giving access to the players to the beta server and implement there the new fuctions. What around 2 weeks from implementation in beta to implementation on live game?

The beta server could have increased rates for all the game mecanics, to allow quick growing and full testing of new fuctions.

x10 on all tasks time for the beta server would not be so bad.
x10 on all hardware for the beta server would be just.... cool!!!

You could disable the rankings, the fall of fame, and the ingame messaing, in order to optimize DB usage.

Way to join the beta server:
-PM you ingame so you copy our user/pass to the beta server
-Periodicly user table backups from DB where server, messages, ranks, hpd and soft are cleaned. then a script could fill the gaps ;)

What around it, siremi?

Congratulations to the Top 10!

I'll be testing and testing this last 24 hours to make sure there are now bugs in R3.

Once the new round starts, I'm going to start our advertising campaigns and get the new players to play. Hopefully, I can do a basic group update with ingame group boards so you can organize your groups in R3.


I'm sorry we can't do the beta testing that you wanted.

I also have noticed that your own faction servers do not show up in the IPDB automatically.  You have to visit them to get them to show up.

this is an intended feature, and as such will not be implemented.

but having the "faction" servers  tab would be great.

I do not mind having to conncet to the faction servers to make them get in my IPDB.

Please discuss this issue in relation with the Baron virus update and the upcoming update that will introduce remote malware attacks.

My suggestion is, On IP Change:
- do not break connection with own virii on owned gateway when doing the IP Change (this will help own sniffers, Baron, etc.)
- all active remote malware attacks coming from the gateway doing the IP Change will be killed



And targeting the gateway doing the IP change? What happens with them?

The task is killed when you complete the IP change, at its activation or on both fuction triggers?

BTW, I think public servers should not have /root/OS/os.sock related missions. They should be static, or setting limits like no more that 50% missions to each mega-corp around it at the same time aviable, taking the default rounding (it sounds too bad to me, I guess google translation is wrong), so for the 5 TL repositories there should be only 2 active (5*50%=2.5 => Rounding_default(2.5)=2)

Malware should execute remote attacks on targets.

Remote attack power should be very low compared to direct attack. (3% of the normal attack)

Target should receive a warning of incoming attack. A "remote malware attack" process will be started on the target as well as the attacker system.  The process can be killed if target hacks into the attacking system. The target can escape the remote attack if it changes IP. Remote attack process has a countdown to task completion. The process has to be completed, target has to be valid, then the malware will be unleashed remotely.

How it will work:

Attacker = server where malware is installed. It can be a farm or a server where you own a malware virii.
Defender = server that is to be remotely attacked by your malware virii

In Software, when trying to activate your malware, you will be prompted for the target IP. Once confirmed, a process will be started on the Attacker and Defender servers. This is similar to a remote disinfection process. Once the remote attack process is completed by the Attacker, the malware will release it's charge at 3% of the normal efficiency.



That makes me think around new game engine usage (you can call it plan, tactics, or whatever you want).

I think it should have some limitations:

-Attacker server cannot change IP adress or get the virii disinfected. If that happens, the attack is canceled.
-Defender server can change IP adress while the attack is being aiming (the counter is on), cancelling the attack and reseting the virii hours counter.
-A direct connection is made to the Defender. This way attack is traceble because of the first limit.
-The attacker should have the admin access prior to attack launching?
-The same server cannot launch a remote attack to 2 servers at the same time.
-The attack should not be launched from too powered to too newbs (It could make the top impossible to reach), but I await this community not to go that way too much and leave others to compete with them (otherway, it would exist no pvp). I would first give warnings or make hide/encripts prior to masive remote attacking.
-In order to improve pvp, remote attacks should be only allowed to be launched from OWNED servers, or other players gateways, but not from NPC servers.

Question: This thing will affect both the overload virus and the logic bomb virus?

PS: It will be a great tool for pro-faith people playing this game. It would allow to nuke servers, pushing them to the newbie status, without using rev, with lots of stealth.

I do not worry about that. i think players are clever engough to create their own tactics and that groups as SGP will be able to legaly "exploit" the new features (that means taking knowledge of the new game engine and planning the most efficiently way to use them).

Robber Baron Virus specs:

- Can only install one software of this type on a single server
- version 0.1 collects about 1200 HPD per hour, 20x times more then the File Share
- resources to run are 30X more then the File Share
- 2.5% of the collected income is converted into negative standing for the faction selected in "Software" page under "Virii Settings"
  -> To switch target faction in "Software" -> Virii Settings -> Target faction: new faction -> Change Setttings then Collect

- Gold accounts can hold up to 30 installed virii of this type. Regular accounts can hold up to 15 installed.


I'm not sure if we want this before R3 or in R3. Don't want to prolong R2 more then necessary...

So the True Light Repository has not been updated with the new software yet, but everything else is in place.







Please read the bolded.  Do you realize how much it is going to cost just to buy that server?
At the resources needed you would pay roughly
1,280,000 hpd for server #8
448,500 hpd for the BW to install it
22,500 hpd for the CPU to install it
5,000 hpd for the memory
28800 hpd for the HDD.

So think about the cost vs reward of it before complaining.

You can ONLY INSTALL 1(ONE) PER SERVER.
