uh huh.. back to the topic at hand...

yes, it has been requested before, but hell.

i can only think of two ways to organise:

by name
by ip

my suggestion was to add a *last* option

to be honest, i would prefer a search function, but one step at a time
229  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Small modification for a more noob-friendly environment on: June 28, 2008, 01:36:44 PM
Now, the current problem is that ANYONE at the very beginning can break into anyone else's computer.

0.1 attack >0.1 defence.

This leads to severe frustration as some peopel just want to be mean and delete/kill all processes, even if their targets in question were simply dling improved defences.

MY suggestion was originally: make it like hiding files. 0.1 defence > 0.1 attack. However, this would have lead to severe wierdness about the servers.

Therefore, im wondering if it is too much to ask for beginners to start with a 0.101 (or something perhaps a 0.106) password/firewall protect. Or in fact, just start with a beginning firewall/pass word protect that is higher than the beginning firewall/password breaker.

I know this does not address the uber-strong hackers from still wrecking carnage, but one step at a time? =/

thoughts?
230  HP Info Terminal / F.A.Q. / data hijack on: June 28, 2008, 08:33:50 AM
IT says in teh manual:

Since the file is intercepted directly from the router and the communications are encrypted, the file will also be encrypted with a version equal to the intercepted software version

i interpret this as:

player Y has intercepted player X's file, version 0.25.  player Y therefore needs a decryptor valued at 0.25 or above inorder to use this file.

Am i correct? or does the program file have to be encrypted in the first place for the decryption part to take hold?
231  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / ability to simultaneously crack passwords on: June 28, 2008, 08:10:12 AM
minor suggestion here.

atm i like the idea of having load levels, (i.e, running password at double if you have the system resources)

however, i would like the option to crack two-passwords , if not more, simultaneously rather than having to do it one at a time.

He's not talking about the gold ftp server. they are useless to clans as only the account holder can access it.

he means buying a new server entirely. plant defences, use it as a means ot transferring stuff.

not cheap at 20k though.

234  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Remote Anti-Virus disinfection on: June 27, 2008, 04:20:53 PM
hmm..

would it be considered for this to work in reverse?

i know its an utter pain for newbies who get infected to then have to download at a snails pace due to compromised bandwidth.

just a thought

Nobody have the IP 48.154.6.535.

Dent out.

it will allow you to upload and download faster, but it also depends on where you are uploadingto/downloading from.

i'll leave this one to the admin and i'm slightly confused about this myself.
237  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Format HDD on: June 27, 2008, 11:45:06 AM
things which deter hackers:

large co-operations. Lots of logs to sift through

gateways with active defences. takes time, and if you plant modified logs, they might take the bait.

a bounce trail which goes in a loop.

(A big scary warning message saying follow at your peril or something similar xD)

Reformat and change ip?
239  HP Info Terminal / News & Updates / Re: Format HDD on: June 27, 2008, 10:49:10 AM
If I delete my logs using the 0.1 log undeleter, won't they just be recovered by some more advanced hacker? Seems pointless to even try. I can just hope that nobody cares enough to follow my bouncing trail.

Does formatting the HDD purge logs (maybe permanently)?

You could change your the logs instead of just delete them. Nobody tries to recover a log which isnt deleted.
Just please dont hack me with this strategy.

I do. ALready traced dozens of people in this game, an un-deleted log is not above my scrutiny.
240  HP Info Terminal / F.A.Q. / Re: Adware Spam Daemon - first step in virii HP Dollar making on: June 27, 2008, 10:45:06 AM
you cannot delete installed virii without appropriate anti-virii

however yes, you can upload/install it on target gate way and delete it from your gateway, but that is tedious and you will need to re-download it every time you want to upload it
