well I got into CSS this weekend and I dug up this code for some really cool "matrix" text effect

I can't put in into this post because it's in Html/css

If siremi sees this please give some feedback on it

That's pretty sweet dude,

Try making it finish a little bit faster, maybe?  I just tried it again and the first time it took forever, what about decreasing the time between the completes on each letter as more letters come... slow at first then the last few finish rapid fire.

And if you had it changing each character and keep changing the faded characters as it sat there waiting to refresh the column, it would look way more matrix-ey... I figured that out doing something similar at one point, a whole string of one character doesn't quite look as cool as random characters.

I don't know CSS but if that's not too difficult to accomplish then it would make it look much more complicated and eye catching.

yeah i'm just learning it first, i'll try for a different feel once when I get more comfortable with CSS

and I get what you're saying about the characters, i'll see what I can do about the randomness (or lack thereof)

yea man, it looks pretty sweet. i would have to agree with Araeus though. it seems like it takes a tad bit too long, but like he said. i have no idea how hard it would be to do some of the changes he suggested.. otherwise sweet job man

Edit: ah, well thats pretty cool for just learning,  5

well the basics lie in HTML, then you can progress to XHTML, DHTML and CSS, then you can use javascript to program stuff that actually works, instead of just looking cool

I wanted to try Lua, and C++, but both are somewhat complicated.
