Well, to keep it simple, here is the history of the HP forums. Note this is a WORK IN PROGRESS.

I am in no way attempting to flame or hurt anyone with the posting of these statistics, alot of it is for my own personal use, and it is free information that I can share with anyone.

Now many of the spikes can be attributed to updates and such, and now I am working on detailing that.

Interesting Facts:

- There are more posts in a 7 day period in June at the very start of the game where the activity is higher than the entire month of December.

- The month of July was more active than the last 2 months combined.

- September shows a major slump, the time in which Revelation was introduced.

- Resetting the game proved the community was right, as the activity was only increased for 2 days and is now lower than before the reset.

- Save for the slump in September, the forum is currently in it's least active state.

- Most active day: 2008-07-07   28   437   8   16

- Least active day: 2008-09-08   3   39   1   6 First week excluded

- 4 of the top 10 posters no longer play the game. Another one created it. That's half of the top 10, thus making it a top 5.

As for the greater board activity in the beginning, I am certain that it was largely attributed to more information sharing. People were writing FAQs, etc. There's a bevy of information on here that doesn't need to be rewritten, so naturally the number of new topics and posts has dropped. That would explain the greater activity after updates as well.
