Newbie Protection

After stumbling across a server with a "Basic Robber Baron Virus V 0.1357 [virii]" on it and hardware specs like:
"load average 10,178/550 Mhz CPU 1851%, 407,100/32,768 Kb Mem 1242%, 2,035.50/5 Kbs Bandwidth 40710%"

Then getting:

 "Installing virus on host...
 This player is under newbie protection!"

I thought this doesn't seem right, he has default specs so assume has malware bombed himself to stop anyone being able to do anything on his gateway (also contains v100 files)

So my suggestion is basically; Once youve come out of newbie protection, you cannot go back, or, make it so if you have a file above v1 or v0.5, you come out of newbie protection (the same way if you get 10kbs you come out of newbie mode)

I know i wouldn't have been able to do anything even if he wasn't in newbie protection, but the principal stands and it doesn't seem right to me...
