Ok... Here's a suggestion for Tracers / Virii identify:

Base 0.1 Process tracer should have a 1% chance of success.

Each 1.0 of tracer should increase success rate by 1%  up to something like 15%.

Then each   5.0 of tracer increase by 1% up to 30%
Then each 10.0 of tracer increase up to max of 40%

.1         = 1%
1.0       = 2%
4.0       = 5%   <-- current tracer percentage right now, If I recall...
14.0     = 15%
19.0     = 16%
89.0     = 30%
99.0     = 31%
189.0   = 40%

My math might be off above, but you get the idea.

Tracer size and usage should be decreased dramatically though.  As it is, the little guys can't run more than a couple of the .1's at a time.  Also, if using above values, size and usage of tracer should be below the current .1 mark at the level 4.0 mark.

Finally, AP cost should be adjusted from 20 AP to:

1+ Full Version Level.  A level 4 (5% chance of success) would cost 5AP and a level 89 file (that has a 30% chance to get an IP) should be 90 AP.

I like this idea because process tracer has no real use past v0.1, especially when it uses so much resources to run ;_;

This way it has a real increment rather than having to research to like v100 just to get it up another 5%
But then again 15% chance is pretty high for v14, so it should still have a big useage to balance it out a bit....

I don't even use PT or VI except as a last resort. It's easier and more accurate to try to trace the bounce chain, and you're more likely to get a reliable IP. That says something considering that these two softs are supposed to be a counter for the "god mode" IP change.

I'd rather undelete.

Besides... You just didn't cancel my undelete research you cancelled my delete research as well.  ranting2  Actually, the only thing you didn't cancel was my hide files.

I'm pretty sure it was only undeleter D:
I always feel bad about closing research, but i REALLY didn't want you to have a bigger undeleter  laugh

Your IP was posted around the group boards a few times, would be no surprise if someone else jumped in ;)
