In all honesty, this wasn't exactly how I expected a Hacking MMO that is extremely similar to Uplink would be when it comes to PvP (Primary Mission-wise). I really don't like how IPs are, as the title suggests, handed out as soon as you get the mission. An IP is supposed to be like your personal treasure that is to be safeguarded with your life, but that is really difficult given how easy it is to just get someone's personal treasure at random or to just buy it at the Dealer.

On a side note, I don't like how easy it is to escape utter doom just by changing IPs (or keeping an IP Change at the ready that can be used as soon as you smell something fishy going on) and disappearing as if you were never known to exist. I used to play another "Hacking MMO" (that didn't do too well due to several other problems) where you were only allowed about 3 IP changes before you had to pay a Lottery Jackpot to change it again (and that amount increased tenfold to change it again after that). That's not the main focus though, but "Food-For-Thought" I guess.

When I first envisioned how PvP Missions would be gone about, it was like this: The PvP Mission would target someone who has recently committed to a hacking job (such as deleting a research file, cracking a bank account, transferring money, etc.; do note that this was before I actually committed to HP and knew nothing about it beforehand) and the mission details would tell you the target's last known relevant log details (usually a log of the target logging in as admin to the server that gave specific details about HIS mission; again, before I knew anything about HP). You would then go there, find the log, Undelete if necessary, trace the log back to the target's mission provider (in my mind, the target's IP was forced to bounce through the Mission Provider's IP to his target for the purpose of the PvP Missions and all), match the timestamp, and find and Undelete the correct log (this log could NOT be undeleted by anyone else for obvious purposes). Once the target's IP was found, you would crack into his server, stop the process that was related to the mission, then do as much damage as you could before the target finds out what was going on and decides to retaliate.

I guess that is when changing IPs would be necessary, but again, I wasn't exactly sure how things worked in HP and thought it would take that path or something similar to it. I also didn't expect it to be so easy to find an IP and do damage, as well as how easy it was to escape.

Again, "Food-For-Thought" and just sorta ranting. I hope something changes for the better in the future; this was the only Hacking MMO that was actually worth my time since you don't see many "hacking" games anymore (it pretty much all went downhill after Uplink).
If you are confused about the PvP Process that went through my mind and have a question about it, feel free to ask a question, I'd be glad to answer if it makes it any more clearer since I know my explanation wasn't that great.

i can't agree more. ip dealer is ridiculous, and so are Primary PvP missions. and IP change should be nerfed a LOT. like 24h or 48h process.
