I would like to be able to run my software at a lower version level on my gateway.  So if I have hide version 1.0 I could choose to run it at 0.5 effective version.

Also, I would like to reverse engineer software to lower versions.  If I have version 1.0 Adware, for example, I would like to be able to split off a version 0.5 if I wish (I would end up with both the 1.0 and a 0.5 version sitting in my file system).

I'm not gonna go into details but running things at specific lower versions is useful.

I can second this. I just recently go my hands on a one high-end cracking program, except that in order to run it, I either have to lower all my defenses, or have nothing else running. However, I want to crack a few servers, and given that one crack program is at ~.2 and the other is ~.4, I wish I could downgrade the stronger one to match the weaker one.

I hack games, not computers, in my life.

I'm NOT SGP, no matter how much I support them on the forums.
