There have been a couple of issues involving a large amount of tasks open on remote hosts. The large number of tasks is open at one time and stresses the server on each refresh. Also the tasks are not open with the purpose of completing them, but to annoy other people.

We have examples on both sides:

- people opening multiple download / upload tasks to make the Running Software load slower and annoy others that hack them.
- hackers opening up a large number of delete / hide / encrypt tasks in order to annoy the victim and force them into format

The fix:

- you can open a maximum of 10 concurrent tasks on a remote server. This includes downloads / uploads / remote disinfect / rem capture / delete / hide / unhide / encrypt / decrypt / install / etc.
- localhost gateway is not affected, only tasks on remote connection
- activated owned viruses are not counted

Way to work around it:

- use more then one gateway servers, use Gate #1 to start 10 tasks. Gate #2 to start 10 more, etc. (need more then one owned servers for this)

Yes another change brought on by SGP tactics!

Although I think it is bogus personally.  Especially since you can get more than 10 missions on a NPC server.

But this also forces people to buy more servers.    hrmmm   guess it is time for SGP members to start increasing their server clusters.

Meh. Less game to play. Again.

Moar game!

But seriously - I look forward to when updates to the game give us more options and more game to play, instead of always just limiting what we can do.

I think right now it is more important to get the core of the game built and have it solid before adding too many new features as trying to build a lot on a shaky foundation leads to a collapse of a game..

Thank you for the wonderful analogy. Unfortunately, I'm not looking to spend my life playing this game and, while it's good to have a solid foundation, who really wants to play a game with so few options that pong becomes attractive again? (No, we're not there. Yet.)

We could always start using malware, but then it'll just get nerfed more than it already is...
