My suggestion is that a map is put in place containing ALL IP addresses with lines linking them depending on where they are conected to. You can only view your connected network.

For you to be able to see this map you require software called IP spider, IP Spider Block obviously is the anti-version. the IP spider has to be v1.06 higher than the IP Spider Block to view.

The map is updated every time you click on the map button and takes 10 seconds to map one computer, the discovered computers show up instantaneously.

Another Idea that could go nicely to this is friend and foe lists. If the discovered computer is a friend it shows up green, if its a foe it shows up red. If its an NPC server it shows up with the designated faction colour with either a P for public or a S for secret in it.

Secret servers AUTOMATICALLY have IP Spider Blocker installed and depending on server strength depends on the version.

This is a great idea. That web is how you connect in real life (world wide WEB), in order to connect to other websites you need to bounce thogh other servers. Like when I connect to hacker-project.com I need to go though these server (these ARE NOT in game IP)
192.168.1.1 -> Blocked IP -> 66.185.90.145 -> 66.185.93.193 -> 66.185.83.198 -> 24.153.5.238 -> 64.71.240.18 -> 154.54.5.45 -> 154.54.5.242 -> 154.54.7.169 -> 154.54.7.165 -> 38.104.86.42 -> 74.208.1.65 -> 74.208.1.118 -> 74.208.1.168 -> 74.208.14.61

It does that automaticly. So in the game you'll go through 1 to 1000 servers, but once you connect it will only show your starting IP, unless you have a admin and click the bounce then you start the process of hiding of your IP.

Like I said this a great idea, but this is way to far into the future of Hacker Project.

Did you know that the WWW moniker is actually a SUBDomain of the actual site.  For instance WWW.Hacker-project.com is not the actual website but a subdomain that reroutes to the actual Domain which is Hacker-Project.com.   So in essence that in of itself is a hop which is probably why you have so many 74.208's in your path up above.

I do know that. The main domain is SpaceOddessy (I think I missplellled that). I just used it cause I still bounce though it. Like at the start 192.168.1.1 is my local network, with 192.168.1.112 being my computer.

You have my condolences on the Linksys router ;)

I only use Dlink Gamer Lounges myself and will only recommend them.   However the WRTG54 is a nice hackable Linksys router.  There is even firmware for the alternative free xbox live for the older Xbox.

It would completely change the allready working connecting system. I think sommebody allready said this but dont fix anything that is working. Its also working good when you can separate connect with bounce.
This would also make HP a more graphical game but isnt the reason for some games to be browser based to avoid massive slowdowns or massive upgrades of hardware on server? To add images (which in this case should be interactive) it would force Emi to either upgrade his server or allow slowdowns which he have implemented updates to avoid. I dont know how much of the servers cpu would go in to this but when Emi does small updates to save cpu power I dont think this is the greatest of updates.

Therefore there is no reason to fear.

there will be no changes to game mechanics, except you can view all people on the network, like bouncing through everyone

Now that think about it, I used to play a game long long time ago that had a very similer IP map, though insted of IP it was web address. Any way what Im asking is if PlyPencil got this from somewhere else.

Yes there are a number of games based on Cyberpunk that were made for the computer, although Nueromancer was the best, that had something similar.

However I don't know how that would be.  It would kinda make IP Sniffer less useful but at the same time make IP Cloaker a lot more useful.
