You're right. True Light is more like Adolf Hitler. They pose as the good guy but in reality, they are the master of all evil. Meanwhile SGP gets the finger pointing for being the bad guys although we're doing the EXACT thing that True Light was made for: "Their goal is to develop the ultimate software and use it against the menace".

So we are the bad guys for developing the ultimate software and using it against the menace? Why is True Light the Good Corporation, then?

Well, according to Emi's plot update, True Light isn't actually evil; they didn't have bad intentions. Revelation just got out of control.

Also, I invoke Godwin's Law :P

The same can be said about the Faith Union. We're still the "bad guys" apparently.

Also, Godwin's Law is stupid.

"If two kids on the internet continue to argue, they are more likely to begin calling eachother nazi's"

Uhh, duh? Welcome to life, There's no law.

Oh, come on. Godwin's law is funny. It may not be particularly profound, but it makes me chuckle.

It sounds like something someone came up with just to gain some publicity.

Well, it's kinda true, too. I mean, if you watch a messageboard long enough, a LOT of flamewars degenerate into one side yelling at the other about being fascists.

This stock market and bank account ideas will help boost PVP, the single thing that this game is missing.
I say we implement a beta of it and mess with it and see what comes out of it.

Shouldn't be hard, purchase stocks at a price, sell at a price, a simplified version of the real stock market.

Maybe combine a megacorp run stock market, with player-run banks?  The stock market would work as described earlier, and the banks would be something that players would have to take efforts to defend (but not in the same ways as regular servers, so higher players don't have a monopoly).  Anyway, the player banks would be hackable if they weren't well-run, and it would be possible for the owner to embezzle from it, so one would have to trust them.  The player could also choose to invest a percentage of the money in the stock market and earn interest or losses for their investors.

I'm just throwing this idea out there, in some respects I don't like the idea of investing in-game itself.  In many games in which you can invest your earnings, people just hoard more and more money to gain higher and higher returns on their investment, and it essentially becomes a requirement to invest all of your money for a few months straight to eve have a shot at keeping up.

If Tiak's idea is implemented:
Starshined Bank:
The bank you can trust.
Change the stock market with only a 2%* patron rate!
We will be Omnicron based**, and will allow for a 3%^ interest every week!
Why trust COMMUNISTS^^ when you can trust our shady industrialists?
*may be increased to as much as 20%
**Or Hakuza, or Icarus, depends on who I have a lot of stock in.
^may be decreased to .1%
^^COMMUNISTS do not exist here, and our shady industrialists are actually moonshined-hippies.
