I think it would be nice to have a warning when purchasing new hardware that is gonna remove the newbie protection.

Why? All newbies want to come out of newbie protection? Maybe a message after the upgrade saying 'You are no longer in newbie protection'

My own experience with this - I never knew I had newbie protection (I was always paranoid anyhow) I never knew I left it either... until I found out about it well after the fact!

Yes, all newbies want to come out of the protection, but it should be on their own terms.

Luckily I knew about the newbie protection, so I'm keeping my bw and cpu at the limit until I got enough resources to put up a decent firewall and password protector. Would be a nice addition to people who don't read the forums that often.
