Hi,

isn't it weird that downloading huge file with good bandwidth takes only couple of hours while deleting them from MY OWN HDD takes days??? It should be definitely speeded up to, lets say, no more than an hour. Otherwise it just ridiculous...

Can it be changed?  12

I'm up for decreasing the time needed to delete, hide/unhide and encrypt/decrypt your own files.

Fe. Hiding a file is important if you want to protect your file. It shouldn't take over 90 hours cause by the time you get it hidden, it's already stolen probably  13

I suggest that the time should be limited to 24 or 48 hours. What do you or any of you out there, think about that?

If we can come to an agreement, me and Exousia will be happy to give the message to Sir Emi.  19

I agree with you. As hiding is a form of encryption or FILE SYSTEM tampering it should take considerable amount of time but I also agree that it shouldn't be counted in days for your own system! It should depend on the file size but, lets say, no more than 24 hours for hiding and an hour for deleting. What do you think about that?

I do think it would be nice to be able to encrypt a file, and still be able to use it as the admin... since I encrypt just about everything at home (in rl) and can still run them...

In general everything happening on your computer and started by you should happen a lot faster than doing it remotely but deleting own files from own HDD just HAS TO be quicker....

update to last: and be able to 'lock' tasks, whereby they can only be killed by the admin, but use triple the resources, halved, plus 1000 (or 10,000 RAM) more resources, eg: if i had a process taking 1000, 100,000 respectively, it would then use up 2500 CPU, 160,000 RAM. This would add an extraordinary twist to PvP, and to downloading/uploading...

Deleting a file on localhost is already 10x times faster then the remote deletion.

24 hrs is still too much  12 perhaps a 5 hr cap? or some 'software local host delete' software, reducing time taken to delete ON THE LOCAL GATEWAY by X1.01 every 0.1 version?

I have no idea what bontrose is saying, but I would like to say that when it takes 1/20th or even 1/100th the time to download the file from a remote server as it does to delete it, I think we have a problem.

That post meant nothing, as far as I can tell, and thanks for just recapping the whole thread in one post?
