I have a bit of a Bavarian accent when I speak German so other German speakers may disagree with this but it's pronounced kind of like this:
D-oo d-ah-k n-ee-sh-t.
'Du' is pronounced just like 'do' as in "you do something."
'Doch' is pronounced like 'dock' when you have a sore throat and the 'ck' sound is slurred a bit almost to a 'ch' sound as in "cheese."
'Nicht' is pronounced like 'knee' followed 'sh' ending with a hard 't' sound like saying sh*t without the vowel that gets edited out there.

I do disagree with you.
'Du' is prononced as you said but I would pronunce 'doch' like dock but with the sound Achmed the dead terrorist does when he tries to pronunce his own name instead of ck..
'Nicht' is pronunced n-i-ch-t (short I and ch as in church).
I think Im a bit wrong myself. I jumped out of german class to do something else instead.

My sweet Eleonore, show no fear, for the fearful riders are all ear, and they smell and tastes every tear. But more importantly: They aren't here! Therefore there is no reason to fear. Not until they ride again, my dear.

Exousia was closer on 'nicht', except it is more like n-i-h-t (n is not likt knee! and ch is more like h here, not like ch in church). otherwise Arthur is right for doch lpJ.

You actually German/Swiss/Another German Speeking Country or should I just continue to go by my aunt's advice who lived Frankfurt for 30 years? I may not have communicated the correct sounds either, I'm terrible with spelling. 'Ch' in 'church' was the closest approximation I could think of at the time, so it's probably incorrect. Crap! Now that I think of it 'i' is a short sound, isn't it. 'Knee' is also incorrect. I was tired, alright!

I'm sure sound alright. I only made my aunt laugh at my pronunciation once (maybe twice). I was just happy to have something other than the public school curriculum to guide me.

Well no first of all the collect default is gone now. It has been reset. And second: I have messaged Emi, as many others have done the last few days / weeks, about the problem of being able to lock your BW. He responded that it should be a killable process, activating your own virii.. Except ofcourse the Revelation Virus. Another bug / exploit fixed.. Woot!

How did a joke email post turn into a discussion of foreign languages, Stephen Hawking, german war aircraft, game bugs, and getting a board moderator?

We're like a bunch of Russian partisans, blowing up the tracks and derailing trains with impunity. I suppose, if I were a moderator, I'd have to curtail that stuff, though.

Why? It should be OK for threads to be derailed, no? I guess if you let threads get derailed, you might be forced with a tough decision of which section the thread belongs though.
