i like all of these, particularly the rename/hide processes (as this would fit in with files) and backdoors and worms. to fix the worm abuse, a possible 15% chance of the virii spreading with connections/bounces

with a bit of editing, it could work... perhaps...
35  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / ability to 'isolate' tasks on: March 01, 2009, 08:28:47 AM
the ability to 'isolate' tasks (did not know what else to call it lol), thus using less resources, however taking longer to complete. therefore more missions could be being done at the same time. and, do it the other way around, which only works for local host tasks, whereby a task uses more resources than normal, and is therefore completed faster. go 4 it; perhaps even an aliance FTP, working in much the same way as the gold FTP works, only accessible by the alliance/group and each member, dependant on their rank, gets an allocated amount of space, with the leader, 2IC etc having accessibility to the full space avalible.

agreed

and if custom files are implemented, it encourages other players to learn computer programming, and thus allows them to get better off in RL

I've just started (I'll be introducing myself shortly), but already this looks like a cool game. Solid enough that it might actually last. I've played a few games that were ready to die (or already dead), and I this looks like a possible survivor.
the only reason many games fall in the mud is because some games cannot be updated much, and is a case of 'that is your game, take it or leave it', and/or the admin refuses to reset the server. if a game can be easily updated, or the admins reset the server every once in a while, it makes a game which does not get boring. without both of these, a game can get very boring very fast. stargate wars (****) is a classic example of this; i am currently in the process of spamming the admins to reset the server to pick it back up again. this, and a couple of other games i play, can be updated easily, and reset once a year (or so...)

go 4 it

with all of these, you can see why i want to implement custom files (see: a few ideas, by me)

another idea:
folders system to organise files/programs into groups/subgroups, like my ip's suggestion.
zipped/compressed folders/files; whilst they are like this they cannot be run, but take up less HDD space.
