emi with this being a leader only function - is it right that we as members have to sit and watch the server get destroyed by people and are powerless to do anything ?

Well your leader should immediately be notified so he can change the pass / IP. If the leader is inactive or on vacation, he should appoint someone else as leader from Leader Options.

Once we get the group ranks / permissions going, this should not pose a problem, as the leader can assign co-leaders that will have access to the leader options.
