How do we calculate each version of the robber baron?

What is the highest version of the robber baron you can activate using a non-gold account?

(sorry if this has been asked before)

Technically Tri is correct, however, due to AP limitations, without purchasing additional AP or gaining additional AP from voting, a non-gold can install a v0.3 and a gold can install a v0.5.

Mind you, these limitations are purely based on available AP.

There is also a limit on the quantity of Barons which one can install.

We have two new software types:

Robber Baron Virus
Robber Baron Anti-Virus

The software has been discussed here:
http://www.hacker-project.com/forum/index.php?topic=1535.0

Robber Baron Virus specs:

- Can only install one software of this type on a single server
- version 0.1 collects about 1200 HPD per hour, 20x times more then the File Share
- resources to run are 30X more then the File Share
- 2.5% of the collected income is converted into negative standing for the faction selected in "Software" page under "Virii Settings"
-> To switch target faction in "Software" -> Virii Settings -> Target faction: new faction -> Change Setttings then Collect

- Gold accounts can hold up to 30 installed virii of this type. Regular accounts can hold up to 15 installed.

I do know someone who has a v1.0 installed, but that took quite a bit of work and AP collection via voting and donations.

I have seen a 1.48, 1.45, 1.38 and several 1.2x.

1.48 * 10 * 1500 = 22,200 BW * .8 = 17,650 HPD per hour * 24 = 423,600 per day

Lots of $$$

If I recall it was around 950 AP per .1 to install so ~14,060 AP to install.

It also takes ~54 hours per .1 to install so ~800 hours

Yes, it just gets prohibitively expensive, but it's theoretically possible to research and install any version.

with decrypt missions giving more AP than they use - there is now no limit to how much AP you can have i have at one stage had 50,000+ AP not sure what level Baron that would allow me to install but i know that donations are not needed anymore

I haven't been doing decrypts, Tri. laugh You'd get a v5.0 out of that, I think.   12

Nope, only 92 GB.  You research it and once complete your harddrive will look something like 1362/92 1480.4% filled.

Just can not download anything new onto that machine until you buy more space.  But then you don't need to worry about someone trying to dump a spyware overtop of the robber virus.

It is. It's not like it's all that expensive to tack on a few 100 gigs of HD either.

I don't think the "run" command or the "complete research" commands bother to check for HDD, just everything else.
