Virii Income Change

I think a virii's income comes from a faction account instead of players. This would mean no more virus leak and you can install file share virii and adware virii on private servers like barons. I also think missions should be added to faction's server to hack player's farms and disinfect virii for money like Kill the Baron missions that way you do not have phantom mega virii farms. This also allows player to get the ip of player's private servers, thus even less need for the IP dealer which should go. Also that would This would be an increase of PvP after all what better place to attack that a player's economic base. Additionally it would add missions so you can do something besides decrypt mission grinding.

I like this idea, I also like the viruses not using bandwidth on secret servers idea too.. Either of them would result in more disinfect missions, more farms for smaller players without barons up, but it all needs balancing.

But I know AP cost to HPD income is related as Glitch (i think) worked out before...

But what we don't want is people to stop using secret servers and doing missions again because it's easier to sit and install viruses constantly... But AP is still a limiting factor so people should still be doing decrypts to gain it..

I think the installs should take longer than the disinfects.  Reason being is that on your own server it would be much easier to install your virii than someone to disinfect it, plus you are able to change IP very easily.  I would hate to see the reemergence of virus servers that are unbeatable.

Plus, I can easily see very large versions of the FileShare and Adware being installed on your own gateways.  Maybe put in place a maximum limit on the time to disinfect, something along the lines of 6 hours.  This will give people a chance to actually complete missions against another player.

So no V20 file shares? Ok. So switch it so it takes 1 hour for virus disinfecting per .1 of file share and 1.0 of adware. but, virii installs will be 1 hour per .1 of file share and 1.0 of adware. Barons will install take 5 hours per .1 to install.

No because that would limit the version of fileshare and adware that could be researched. I think if you are willing to wait 200 hours for v10 file share to install it should take 100 hours to disinfect it. Your patience should be rewarded.

No. The whole point is for you to install virii onto your server and collect income just like you do with barons.

Alright I have done some thinking and I think we can compromise on what I have thought of. I have thought of instead of placing a maximum limit how about make it a function that would decrease the effectiveness of installing higher versions of file share and adware. For example, the function t = 25log(v+1), where v is the software version of a file share and t is the time in hours. Here are some of the values that this function would give.
