To merge an above topic, I'd LOVE to see something like...Bank Accounts + Stocks. ANYONE living in the U.S. today will agree.

You can deposit your HPD into your Bank Account OR the Stock Market, and one option would be to invest in the bank stocks at the stock market. The amount of HPD in each M-C bank would have some influence on the stock, but not entirely. Banks can crash, stocks can crash.

The HPD you have on hand will always be secure, just like the Secure FTP.

What we need is something that you can put your HPD in to work for you and attach a risk factor to it, so that's why I came up with stock markets.

Now I guess you could use the bank of a mega-corp just like you use the stock market, and deposit HPD to gain interest, however those accounts / shares will be hackable. Bank accounts with interest are usually guaranteed investments for a bank, so it should be the same as a stock purchase but with a lower risk factor.

There will be some sort of mini game in there, where you would involve one or more of your servers to hack, acquire and track the stock / bank accounts of others. Some sort of semi-private account system will be created in order to prevent transfers of HPD between accounts, but still make it possible to steal stuff.

But, for those that want their HPD safe and sound, they can always have the HPD in the secure stash attached to each HP account 1

That's why I always keep my HPD stuffed in my mattress.

It's a very thin mattress and kinda lumpy.

It's hard like the concrete floor of my squalid hovel.

I don't sleep well on it.

Can't sleep. Clown will eat me.

Ah, crap. I missed an opportunity for epic comedy rather than just "ha ha, he made a funny" comedy.

And, on track with the OP, I'd play with a stock market. I probably wouldn't mess with bank accounts with all those hackers out there, though.  16

I may have a basic idea on how the stock market would work.

We start with each faction / corp and their own stocks. Stocks will be influenced by:

- offer / demand (how many bought / sold)
- corp liquid assets (HPD invested by players)
- corp static assets (servers / hardware)

- virii power installed on corp negatively affecting the stock
- missions done for the corp positively affecting the stock
- missions done against the corp negatively affecting the stock

Stock exchange missions (simple and effective) will constitute of:

- Hacking a rival mega-corp and stealing stock market data / profits.
Objective: Hack the mega-corp server, find the stock market trojan virii file that was inserted by a third party giving the mission. Activate the trojan file, (version depending on mission reward, completing activate process require AP like a normal virii). First player to complete the activation process receives the reward, provided they have the mission on the file. Trojan file deletes itself and all traces of it after activation is completed.

Result: Acquire a small portion of the wealth (mission reward), while having a negative impact on the stock of the rival corp. Everybody in the rival corp losses as the stock is decreased if the mission is successful. The reward is actually the missing wealth reflected in the lowering of the stock by X points.

The stock market will also serve as a ranking for the mega-corps to see what corp is the most powerful.

Truelight isn't really a corporation, so I would say that they shouldn't really have stocks...
