I was thinking you should have something to deposit your HPD on from the balance, then it came to me. Why not invest it? Stocks in the corporations, you buy stocks and they may go up or down, depending on how the corp is doing. The stocks would be affected by many actions, like doing missions for particular corp will increase it's stocks, or installing virii will decrease them. Basically, the stocks will be affected by all the gameplay actions, including malware attacks on corps. Then, you could play the stock market and try to predict and invest in the corp that you think will do best, or even try to manipulate the stocks via group ingame action... It could go up / down, but that's what a stock market does Any comments?

This is a little unbalanced. What if SGP and the other big groups decided to bring down a specific corp just to support it later to bring in even more HPD?
And a note to all: If you can invest in TL, dont do it. Theyll just go straight downwards.

Brilliant idea but easily manipulated by big groups.

What I was thinking is this would go very well with the factions suggestion, where you join a corp it would only be natural that if you protect the assets of the corp you would also invest in it's stocks. Then, after the corp wars start the stock may go down and then back up and eventually stabilize, etc. So you would always have a few options and try to invest in the corp that has the best profit margin... The idea behind it is that if you invested 100 HPD and the stock went down 2% on the previous week, it may go up 4% in the following week, and you can make a profit of 2%. Or you could sell it for 98 HPD and buy stock on another corp that has a better margin. Also, this could open up other hacking posibilities / missions, like missions to hack into stock market servers and try to steal stock or manipulate things from behind the curtains I'm sure the mega-corps will be most interested in giving missions to discredit the rival corps in favor of their own stocks

Its sounds good. There should be a table like the high score page, that would show the current points that the Mega-Corp has.
And if th groups were to be supported ingame, then maybe there could be stock for the group to. Cause most poeple (or at least the one that are powerful) are against True Light, and there are so many missions against the other Mega-Corps. So if the groups can be a way so that the stock accualy can go up.

I'm going to buy 10-100 (depending on prices!) shares of omnicron and Hakuza. (I hear they have some plans in development!)

Just to ensure credit goes where credit is due. Stocks have been suggested in both of these threads. Data LiberationBank AccountsI do recall some other mentions of stocks but can't remember which threads those were in.
