This whole software purchase thing is almost as repugnant as the IP purchase imo.
[EDIT ADDENDUM]
I believe that we should be able to pay other players for software, not just purchase it off some NPC who magically gets whatever version is highest on the game. Sounds like it's really going to nerf the research idea even more because now no one's going to want to invest all that much into it because someone's just going to purchase it after it's been completed.

Aside from that, the game will be stale and boring when we all have the EXACT same software and nobody wants to research their own.

I started 50 of them with 200 hours, to get a v 30.1 (FOr my own private reasons).
Now they will never complete. Maybe I should start on something new

Oh fricking great. I just spend all my money in getting a decent research server (The reason the thing could handle 5k research threads on the 0.1 log deleter at the same time) going only to be told I could have better spend that bundle of cash on buying the stuff. Top of the line firewall bypass costs only 8.5 million.  |

Everyone, turn all research servers into farms, this game gets steadily more boring as even research is cut out, all we do now is use the big undeletable v100s-v1000s  |
